Has the ESPN money to the SEC and their spin on the conference has hurt college football over-all? I believe the money launched the multi-million dollar coaching contracts, the facilities war, and the short fuse on coaches who don't produce championships on a regular basis.
There is bias in me. My grandmother taught the grandchildren to never hate anyone. Soooooo, out of respect for her let me say it this way. "I despise ESPN and their bought SEC." I think they ought to just pull out of the NCAA, play each other, and declare the winner of their conference national champions. O wait. They do that already.

I would imagine that the TV money has had a lot to do with the salaries going up so much. As far as espn and the sec, they try to deny it but they have a sec product that they need to sell to make money from advertising. They need to convince us that the football on the sec network is so good, that we have to watch it so they can sell advertising and make money. This will continue until the sec network folds or every conference has a network controlled by espn. Personally, I don't watch the sec network unless there's a heatbreaking loss for the gamechickens being replayed. And I watch every one of those!

While my grandmother also taught me not to hate it was one of the other "life lessons" she taught that I adhere to with regards to the eSECpn/SEC marriage "Don't be anybody's fool!" I realize some people are "intellectually uncomfortable" with the ideas of conspiracy theories but that doesn't mean that they don't exist. At the root of this afore mentioned marriage of eSECpn and SEC is pure unadulterated greed, just follow the money.

ESPN needs a real rival

Fox Sports is probably the closest thing but they are far too small to be a real rival to them. Another major Sports network is what we need.

What we need to do is just win. Florida St has done it, Ohio St has done it, We could very well do it next week. So far there isn't enough data to have this argument with the CFP other than just what some talking heads say. The best way to #### them up is win!
