This loss might be a blessing

Nov 29, 2022, 11:25 AM

First off I am not happy the Tigers lost to Carolina but I am a realist and knew the streak would one day end . Nobody in their right mind should think Clemson was never going to lose to the Gamecocks again. As Crappy as they are , every once in a while they will pull off an upset. As crazy as this may sound , I can accept it more so this year than others. I don't think Clemson has a playoff caliber team this year and it was a small chance that the tiger were even going to make the playoffs anyway. Sure it is upsetting to see the #### Fans gloat over a 1 point win in a game that could have had a different outcome if any 1 of several plays went the other way. A few fumbles, a few great punts ( on their part) a couple of unfortunate long throws by them ( 4th and 1 and the last td pass ) and this game could and would of had a different outcome. But face it , Clemson has missed something the past 2 years that they had the fortune of having in several previous years. DW, TL, TE, Higgins, Ross, and the Magic of Renfrow ( just to name a few) Looking forward, ( the hopeful blessing) I believe Dabo will use this loss as a catalyst to build another championship team . Dabo has led Clemson to 2 Championships, and there is no reason why he cant do this again . 10-2 is not a bad year , Clemson beat some sound teams without a stellar offense. I for one think the future will be good . I am not a coach, I am like most or some on this board, played ball back when younger , watched a lot of ball over the years and see the things you all see so no great revelations here. However I will say, the several things I see are actually simple and fixable. Need better quarterback play, better receiver play. Defense is good but a bit of a letdown from what we knew at beginning of year but keep in mind we lost one of the best defensive coaches around and a pretty good offensive coach as well. Need a good punter period, I swear I have never seen a punter do what the punter for Carolina did in this game, he killed us on every punt. Anyway, I think this will open Dabo's eyes a bit and he will do what he need to do .
