Allen better have our tackling issues fixed because Durham is the real deal

LSU's running game is the aspect that worries me the most about the game Saturday. Obviously LSU has a great passing game, but if we let Durham run free then at best we have a shoot out.

If we can contain him, I think we can disrupt Nussmeier especially if he really isn't so mobile.

These are Durham's highlights if you can stomach the music. He was playing with a hurt foot for 7 games last season as a freshman. I know LSU is breaking in new lineman but this dude is good....

Not just track speed as he was clocked at 21.5mph last year on the field

Dabo just said that this RB will be "about as good as we will see"

Kinda shows you what you really know. You're just a pure pumper without much to add but to pump and seek out anyone with a critical thought. I guess you fit in well with today's America.

He has not fixed the issue in the 50 or so days of practice they've had since he was named DC. The real question is how much have they improved

He does look tough. Allen has focused on tackling. If we tackle like we did last year, it is going to be a long year. We need to be physical in the line. There is probably parity in the "skill players," but I believe we will have the advantage in the trenches. If Durham is breaking through our DL with speed, it could be a long game.

Outside of Sammy, do our LBs have the side to side speed to stop a guy like Durham?

Are there any other things we should be worrying about while you’re at it? Beer? Parking? Traffic?

Ever notice that fundamentally sound teams are also well-coached? Allen is a great coach. We'll be fine.

Maybe we need to worry about the weather. It might be too cold, or too hot, or too sunny or too foggy or too cloudy, or the sun might get in the punt returner’s eyes, or maybe too dark after the sun goes down. I used to play golf with a guy like that. I told him he was like a woman. It was always “too something”. 😂😂

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

God forbid we talk about issues that needed to be addressed from last year.

Carter was fast, but I’ve never seen a linebacker in college with that much praise who missed that many tackles. I am not concerned with Sammy Brown and Wade Woodazz behind our DLine

Woodaz was the only one tackling vs Louisville. He’s a more sound linebacker than Carter was. Allen is big on fundamentals like tackling and filling the gaps. He will put our guys in the best position to succeed

I hope so, I just question a bit his speed.***

We don’t have to “fix” anything. If our line will be just a little better, our running situation be just a little better, Cade just a little better, receivers just a little better, defensive line just a little better, lbs tackle just a little better, defensive backfield just a little better, then we will be elite

Oh and coaching. Still convinced our loss in the final moments against usuck was about 70% coaching

LSU had 1,500 yards rushing last year. Phil Mafah had 1,100. Clemson had 1,000

more yards rushing as a team than they did and our best back was injured for 5 games. Their QB has never run the ball for more than 14 yards on a play and his best rushing total for a year is 1 yard.

They lost everyone but their center on the offensive line to the NFL. If they couldn't run last year, being a much improved running team this year seems unlikely.

Durham was a FR with 750 yards playing with a hurt foot.

The biggest adjustment needed has already been done.

Moving PWoo back inside to DT where he belongs. He , Capehart and even Adam's to lesser degree will keep the middle plugged.

They'll be forced to bounce it outside all day. Not an attractive option as Allen will make adjustments

This defense will be sound fundamentally and missed tackles and other mistakes will resort in punishment and accountability. Hopefully , they'll be openly scorned on the field by Parker , Woods and others who have assumed those responsibilities.

He is good, Their inbound freshman was a 5* by many, Harlem Berry and then there is Jujuan Johnson who only scored 170+ TDs and 14K yards in HS. TLDR Summary? Like Jawga, LSU ALWAYS has backs. Can we contain? Set the edge? I think so. But those dudes WILL eat this year, don't get it twisted.

Only made it half way through, but dude can't hold the ball through contact with the ground... It popped out 3 times near the end zone in those clips. How many times did he actually fumble last year, too lazy to look it up cause I really don't care.
