The most obvious explanation for 2nd half adjustments

Is that Dabo stepped with adjustments and playcalling.
Dabo directly called out Riley when he said "The only thing that has lived up to the hype from the off-season is Tom Allen."
This is contrary to what many people have believed to this point in that Dabo was meddling too much in the offense. It appears his meddling is the only reason we won that game yesterday.
Going to be interesting to see how this develops going forward. Would not be surprised to see us come out against Georgia Tech with a different approach and mindset to continue running the ball first to set up the pass.
Riley is almost assuredly gone at the end of this season. Maybe even sooner.

I think that Dabo must have chewed major a.s.s. At halftime, called out the entire team, staff, and said something like, all jobs are on the line, if your not going to play, we will give someone else a chance, ether you want it or you dont. We should be destroying this team, now get out there and show me you want to play our ill put someone in that does…
Something like that….. at least thats what young Dabo would have done…

The team was playing so insanely tight that I think he took a soft and motivating approach so they would relax a little bit.
With that being said, I think he pulled Riley to the side and said, "This is what we're doing for the 2nd half. Period."

X100000000 on the team looking tight. No hype at the top of the hill yesterday made me feel like it was going to be one of those days from the get go.
They looked subdued rather than focused. Like they'd rather be elsewhere. God, I hope we see some more enthusiasm next week because we're gonna finish barely bowl eligible or worse if that's how they show up week to week.

Welp you sir have some pretty good intuition, because something very very close to that statement is exactly the tone Coach set at halftime. He told them win or lose, this is the only time they will get to play this team in this stadium this year and for some of them, ever…so win, lose, or draw at least have fun and do what you can do. He said he will handle whatever happens after the game but for them to handle what happens in the game.(Allegedly, of course…)

Agree with you.
I was telling someone the same yesterday that Riley is either going to find a new spot to jump to or be let go if this is the best we can muster with all the experience coming back.
It's just so surprising. Almost looks like we reverted back to the 2021/2022 offense where everything just looks so dadgum hard on offense and nothing looks fluid. You'd think we had to turnover the entire team with portal transfers vs folks that have been in the same system for multiple years.
Either way, I hope we can continue what we saw in the second half against GT.

Agree 100%, If you watch TCU, you can see that their offense did not change or miss anything from GR leaving, which to me means Sonny Dykes was the mastermind and creative guy, and as you say, we haven’t seen much if anything transfer here where he innovated or created a impact on our offense….

so you're saying GR called the TCU offense at TCU, and now he is calling the Clemson Offense at Clemson.

The only commonality between 2021-2022 is Dabo. Dabo interviewed him and GR was supposed to be the savior. Then he reined him in early. Remember the SC game ? "I've never said no so many times". He's now got his dream coach on the defense. How on earth do you explain how flat the team came out?

The plays in the first half were classic Dabo. WR screens, jet sweeps, etc. WR First mentality.

So you think Dabo called the 1st half of LSU, 2nd half of LSU

And then first half of Troy before finally allowing his offensive coordinator to take over in the 2nd half of the 2nd game? Occam's razor, my man. Riley sucks and Dabo had finally had enough at halftime. Thank goodness.
We brought in an extra TE and started pounding the rock with Adam and then took shots down the field. That's classic Dabo and traditional football. We ran those screens and jet sweeps for years because why in the world would you not with our WR core.
Riley is out at the end of the year. Will be interesting to see if Dabo pretty much runs the show from here on out. Could get messy.

This is just a false version of reality.

The struggle bus offense is something that has been consistent with Dabo. The only changes are when we have tremendous quarterbacks who can take the dumb playcalling and overcome it with big plays. For all of our OCs under Dabo, we have always run dumb lateral plays that are high risk and low reward. Also it's more than just the plays we call in the moment, it's the entire offensive mentality. We are sloppy and we have been since the days of Boyd and Spiller. Our routes are bad, our backs can't block, our throws aren't on time, our quarterbacks drift back out of the pocket, etc, etc, etc. Our fundamentals are just bad and they have been for quite some time. We usually just out-talent the other teams, until we hit one that we can't.
I don't know if Riley is any good. He's just a figurehead in my opinion. Nothing changed when we hired him. It's still Dabo's position coaches and Dabo's mentality running the offense.

The announcers said yesterday about the Allen hire that he did not bring any coaches with him and that was unheard of. The Riley hire would be in the same category then. I wondered out loud to a few when Riley was hired. I believe Riley is handcuffed.

In all fairness, would Dabo actually admit if it was his interference that was bringing the offense down? Im not Riley defender, but it seems Dabo is the common denominator over the last 5 years.

The problem I seem to think we have is the inability of our coaching staff. Whether you want to blame Garrett, InRiley or anyone else in particular, but we have a total inability to make first quarter adjustments. It seems like we always play well in the second half and we suck in the first half because we can't seem to make adjustments to get things working. Dabbo laid out the blocking adjustments they made and that opened up the run game. Why they could not do that in the first quarter is beyond me.
