These types of competitions carry a lot of weight. While I expected him to become a 5-star and move into the top 10-15, leaping all the way into the #1 QB position surprises me. I guess one could argue Klubnik has soundly beaten Ewers twice in-a-row in two very important contests.
Now I'm really curious what 247 and Rivals decide. Those are the only two I respect. ESPN is worthless and I have no idea how many people and resources SI invests into recruiting.

Does not matter where he ranks in high school, he's a great kid from a good family who want to be a Tiger... Streeter will coach him up, hopefully DJ does for him what Trevor did for him... we are in good hands, hoping Streeter stays on he's done great things at the position.

football coach, told me upon Cade's commitment to us that he was better than others were saying.
His exact comment was, "Clemson has proven they can go across the country and land top prospects right out from under other powerhouses' noses."
I like those types of remarks.

I don’t know what it is, but there’s something wrong with the football coaches at University of Texas. If you look at QB’s coming out of TX between Drew Brees and Patrick Mahomes, it’s a long list of a very good QB’s and the University of Texas rarely wants them.
I think (not sure) it’s about bigger, stronger, faster. My kids grew up here. I can say beyond a doubt that bigger, stronger, faster is THE “go to” strategy within Texas youth sports. That’s fine for winning games in all kinds of sports between the ages of 10-16, but when it comes with the neglect of smarter, more skilled and more hard working, then bigger, stronger, faster eventually gets out worked and out smarted.
All I know is, a whole bunch of great TX high school QB’s never get a look from University of Texas and it’s been going on for a couple of decades.

I could be wrong but I believe Klubnik is a lot better than the Chase Brices, Tyson P, Cole Stout, type of players. We always look to get a decent buck up type player then right after go get an elite like Lawrence, DJ, and DW4. Next we’ll try to get Manning. I just think even Manning will have a though time overtaking Klubnik. I think he’s a Special player that will surprise a lot of people. I have a feeling he’s going to be a 3 year starter for us.
