Makes sense. SI - once the pinnacle of sports reporting and opinion is now a non-factor.

How best to remind the masses that SI is still limping along and trying to survive? Pick a topic that will generate clicks and conversation hopefully.

Probably the most deserving person is in a more obscure sport - who had they picked - would not have registered with all but a dozen persons.

Actually - nobody except the olds care about this award anymore. The cover of Madden is 100X the story these days.

I actually paid for my subscription by working odd jobs. 7 bucks a year. In the 60s could not wait to get home on Friday to read it. Bonus when it showed up on Thursday. Scoured it for any mention of Clemson. It was really the sports bible back then. Great writers and the photography was great also. Got one in mail the other week for some unknown reason. They try to slam you by sending a copy every now and then. Wife handed to me and I threw it away without reading.

Oh. Anyone want to buy a collection of them from mid 60s up until about 1980 in boxes and in order by date. Trying to declutter a bit
