People are grossly mis-informed. No one understands what a GOR is. Everyone wants to say "its the same as the exit fee". No it's not.
The ACC does not currently have a GOR. The Big XII does. If UT leaves the Big XII, they are still giving the Big XII thier TV revenue for 6 years, and about to be 13.
The buyout is BS. It will be aggressively negotiated. It is not a concern.
I am not a reporter or journalist, but I have been amazed at the writers who are mis-informed and clueless during this process.

I didn't say it couldn't be. I said they were different. The ACC does not control Clemsons media rights if we leave.
If they did, we would not be nearly as attractive to other conferences.

but at the core the two agreements have a completely different method/penalty with the same intent...one is to keep a school in the conference...second is to keep a school in conference but with a much higher penalty...to hold a schools media rights essentially takes away many more options that simply an exit fee.

buyback of media rights. The higher the value of a program's media rights the more expensive the buyback would be. That makes it more likely to lose schools which have programs of lesser value, relatively speaking.

Could they be full of hot air? Certainly. Could they be correct in everything? Yep. Time will tell, but as it stands, they actually seem to have some info that is useful to others, and they make reasonable assertions, not any of this "ND is coming to save the ACC" garbage.
