Humphries question

Dec 5, 2013, 8:40 PM

He keeps getting a lot of blame for 2 turnovers. I've watched the play a few times on the first punt. Not only did Bryant pump into him, if you slow it down it looks like the ball grazed his shoulder pad as well. This may have been discussed and I understand the 2nd time was all on him. Im sure this has been discussed. Has anyone else looked at the play?

He is getting a lot of blame, and it did fumble, but I think just once.

Martavis Bryant is 100% to blame in that instance ...

Bryant interfered and caused Adam to muff the catch. Maybe Bryant was pushed into Adam, so I won't be too judgmental, but Adam receiving any grief from fans over that play is just way out of line and wrong. Those blaming Humphries are either blind or stupid or both.

Later of course, it was all on Adam when he fumbled trying to break a good punt return late in the game.

Meanwhile, in between those two plays, Adam caught 5 passes for 45 yards, several of which were critical to sustaining drives.

I don't blame him for the first fumble and it really could have been overcome anyway. His second fumble was an absolute killer though. We had stopped them and were getting the ball back in good field position with a chance to tie or pull within three I think. What's perplexing is that he was not stripped and it was not a hard hit. It looked like he was switching the ball to his left hand and just dropped it. That fumble was more costly than all 3 of Tajh Boyd's turnovers combined.

The killer was Tajh's fumble when we were tied 17-17 and

driving at mid field. We'd fought back and had seized momentum. At that point, I was absolutely confident we were gong to win the game.

Then ... (expletive!)

Adam's fumble was bad for sure, but we were down 24-17 then and had lost momentum.

IMHO, Tajh's fumble changed the game much more than Adam's.

Why would you as a tiger fan want to point your finger and blame anyone person this was team loss. Humphries has been a great player for us all year so leave the kid alone he probably feels bad enough already without everyone pointing their finger at him and trying to lay blame to one person.Go Tigers

If we had adjusted our offensive play calls...

Once it was clear to everyone on the planet that we could run at will on them, the turnovers may not have mattered.

100% right. Problem, though, this is the 2nd year in a row we were running through them & Chad didn't take the advantage.
