Deliberate Basketball

Is only "boring" to those that have no appreciation or knowledge of the game. UNFORTUNATELY the game has become a racehorse type game that has no appreciation at all for the strategy and is just about talent plus NOTHING. If that is what you like then you really only need a coach except to fill out a lineup and exchange players. We live in a society that is about instant gratification. I liked it when no shot clock. Stall games are about strategy and an equalizer. Plus it HARD to hold the ball. It is NOT EASY !

This "BAD MUSIC" has invaded every stadium and coliseum you go to these days. The people that think this is actually music are the same ones that think Socialism is something we should try !!--LOL !

Disagree 100%. I remember back in the day when the

Lamecocks were still in the ACC, with a good team, and Maryland held the ball, no shot clock. Halftime score was 3 to 2. No thank you, I never again want to see that crap. The "Four Corners" offense is one of the main reasons I will always hate North Carolina, and especially a guard named Phil Ford. If you want to have a professional "Keep Away" league, then have one, but don't call it basketball.

strategy in playing faster. Roy Williams had his guys out and running against a thin Duke team to wear them out and it worked down the stretch.
But according to oldskewl, a coach who runs faster offensive sets and multiple screens to free a shooter or get a better one-on-one matchup with the ball handler is less strategic than holding a basketball until the game ends.

I think college basketball has it about right with the length of the shot clock. Gives time to run set plays, but keeps the game moving. The NBA, on the other hand, has such a short clock that it almost forces one on one basketball.

What the hell are you whining about?
I get it. You don't like change, but it happens.
Deal with it.

We aren't nearly as deliberate as some people here

make it sound. Sure, we slow it down at times, which is on purpose to try to prevent turnovers and thus easy baskets for the other team. But we aren't holding every possession until the shot clock has run down. We push the fast break when we have an opportunity and have numbers, and we slow it down when we don't. That's just good basketball if you ask me. Nothing boring or slow about it.
