Thinking losing to Coots, by only freaking point, will be a day

that Clemson will regret more than imaginable now and one that Coot football program might say was a major turning point in both the rivalry but also in their SEC & National aspirations..
thru better recruiting, fan invigoration & larger donations, team confidence, etc.
During 4th qtr Clemson made an expected & normal decision with 9 minutes left & down only 1 point to stay with the QB who brought them this far and just needed to get points. or they could take a possibly bigger gamble by substituting with a freshman QB.
No one expected an INT at that crucial time nor a fumble with 2 minutes left with ability even then to move ball for just 20-30 yds and kick possible winning FG.
Yes, Cade might have lit the Birds up mid 4th qtr but then again he may not have.
Saying, untimely & costly mistakes caused this loss and not one player.

Very funny bill.
Next year will be "same as it ever was" with Clemson crushing the Peckerheads in front of there fans on the field they owe us rent on!
They'll cry & whine about the huge waste of money for unrealistic expectations and have to take a 2nd job on graveyard shift stocking shelves to recover the cash they wasted on car flags and t-shirts.
Good juan!!! ?

Clemson simply did not have our top QB on the field vs SCu

We did vs. UNC. Simple as that. When QB play picked up, the team picked up. Clemson will be locked and loaded heading into Columbia next Nov.
Go Tigers! Beat Tennessee!

All we had to do was stick with running the ball

in a 2 back set in the first half. The gamechickens could not stop us. They are bad against the run. Anyone could see that coming into the game and we proved it early on. Instead we play called to the strength of their defense with the most glaring weakness on our team by continuing to throw the ball. Their corners are really good. All we had to do was run the ball and limit their opportunities. We would’ve broken them before halftime no matter who was under center. Instead we run for about 250 yards and still lose because we called almost 30 pass plays that weren’t working because DJ was having a horrible day. I love our coaches but that loss is squarely on them.

Some Tigenetters love to use the Game against the ##### to further the narrative of DJ v Cade. I am glad someone else recognizes that it did not matter who was playing QB if we kept running the football. We were running all over them until our Coaches decided to throw more. Carolina was awful against the run all year long. Jordan Burch in particular is terrible against the run. We beat them 30-0 the year prior when we did not even complete 10 passes. I love Dabo and I agree with his statement that DJ did not cost plus the game. The coaches abandoning the run on drives cost us the game.

2nd Half Tiger possessions
Punt Punt TD Punt Punt INT Punt Fumble (Punt Return)
Nice offensive performance against the 80th ranked defense. Don't give me any of that crap, it wasn't DJ's fault. He runs the offense on the field and if he can't make the plays called work, a new play caller or new QB was needed. Based on the ACCCG, it wasn't the play caller.

And play calling.
Two of which are related to coaching decisions.

CootSmackdown16®️ I usually agree with posts but I have to disagree...
I've seen teams with lesser talent at QB and skill positions torch their secondary....
Their DB's are ok..but not Great....

I totally agree. The 2 back set was unstoppable. I definitely blame this loss on the coaches. This seems to be a trend with our offensive play calling for the last few years- when something works, we run different plays because we think we have to keep changing things up. Why not figure out what works are keep doing it until they stop us.

Dude.
You guys played awful and were still a fumble away from beating us. Our fans are acting like you are, that it's the turning point. But I feel like it was a pretty sad state of affairs for us that Dabo didn't even feel threatened to bring in Klubnik. He really thought he could beat us with DJ, and probably have if Williams hadn't fumbled the PR.

##### won and deserve all the credit and they answered every bell....and our coaches coached stupidly....but the trick kickoff play was so stupid and unnecessary...what was anyone thinking to call a play where one of best kickreturners in the country actually gets to return a kick from his fifteen or so and then he gives it away to another player...imo, it was one of the most blundersome play calls in clemson football history..lol

That really was not one of Dabos finest moments, stupid, unnecessary and not really unlike Clemson football! That being said the problem was where it had been all season this and last...we've done away with that problem...let's move on and start a new run of 20 against poultry!

If they bring back Rattler and wells then I’d say they will be formidable. But if they leave as they are expected to do I’m not worried about them. They’ll be breaking in a new QB and won’t have a single skill player on offense worth a dang. They’ll look a lot like the same gamecock teams of the last 8 years.
Heck even with the return of those guys I’m not too worried. I feel Cade is going to be the man and we’ll handle them comfortably.

Bill,
I agree that it was not all DJs fault and that we were still in contention until that last fumble.
HOWEVER, when you play your 2nd best QB, you are just begging the football gods to punish you.

Bill, I highly doubt this will be the turning point after 130 years of coot ineptness. Mediocrity is their pinnacle. You did witness that after that momentous win that they started hemorrhaging players to the portal…many of them starters? Some devious master plan?

Not fair to say " no one expected an INT at that crucial time". It was pretty much par for the course. Hard to believe the coaches were to hard headed to make the need changes, that should have been made much earlier in the season. The loss is 100% on coaching, not on DJU.
