This B.B. team was picked to finish 13th in the ACC. They finished 4th.
This B.B. team was even expected to make into the NCAA tournament. They did, and won two games against some of the top teams from other conferences. (Don’t forget that Auburn was a Top 15 team the majority of the season).
This B.B. team made it to the program’s first Sweet 16 in twenty years.
And ALL of this was accomplished after our most talented, most experienced, and best overall player was lost to injury about midway through the season. This team has absurdly nothing to be ashamed of. And if anyone tries to make a case that Brad Brownell cannot coach, and doesn’t know how to get a team together to perform well in big games then they’re just flat out ignorant...and haven’t been paying attention to what’s been going on this year. Is Brownell an elite coach like your Roy Williams, Coach Ks, Tom Izzos of college b-ball? Maybe not. But the guy proved this year that he knows how to get the most out of what he’s got...and he know she how to inspire young men and draw out talent. Well done, Tigers. Hold you heads high today. You’ve made TigerNation proud and you showed the country that this program can be taken seriously again.
