Two slightly above average teams ... it's a TV game. It is not a show up in person game. Especially following 6 straight years in the CFB playoffs. It's a respite from fighting the bowl crowds.
Does not mean we won't be tuned in with interest. Go Tigers!

saying with 5 straight wins with 30 to 0 SEC team finale, who beat Florida and Auburn, that Clemson is absolutely a top 15 team and some say a top ten.

I would have rather played Iowa State than any of the other projected SEC opponents in the Gator Bowl with the exception of Arkansas. (Texas A&M or Auburn weren't going to light a fire with me since we played them recently)
Also I would have enjoyed playing in the Holiday Bowl against a Pac 12 opponent just for the change-up.
IMO the main thing that's sucked some of the joy of bowl season is opt-outs. Can't blame the players that do but it used to be a cool thing for Bowl games to get to see some unique matchups.
Wish we could do away with some bowl ties to create those unique matchups again but at least the playoff is set to expand soon so we get some more interesting matchups without as many opt-outs

coaching hire news as of late. I particularly feel warm and upbeat Dabo knew exactly who he wanted without even flirting with an outside hire until the analyst he just brought on board.
Not sure about the iowa staters. Do they even need coach replacements?

Iowa State will be prepped and ready to go and very anxious to try to take down the tigers. They have an excellent culture and are well coached. They lost by very few points In several games including OK. They defeated an excellent OK State team that almost got into the playoffs. If our team does not have any excitement we will come home with our butts in our hand. They would have challenged for the ACC championship if in our league. Get ready for a fight.

I think the coaching staff knows how much it would mean to their program to beat a team of our caliber. Their fans have been disappointed too after a lot of media picked them to win the big 12.

"Normally I would say the line discrepancy eats ISU up, but with the coaching change ups maybe ISU can catch them flat footed, dangerous spot for Clemson, ISU possibly has the all time record for planting the seeds for the end of a coaching era. ISU winning could be the seed that sends Dabo elsewhere, sending Clemson back to reality."
I definitely wouldn't consider Iowa State as a gimme win but Dabo leaving Clemson because the Tigers lost to the Cyclones is just laughable.

Our ream was kind of a dud this year. Why would they be excited? Moreover, it's the Cheez It Bowl. I am into the game because I want to see if we are improving for next year.

I'm excited. ISU is a great team with some close Ls. Should be a fun game and I can't wait to see how our O and D does.

Clemson (65-69) our "bowl" game was the South Carolina game (theirs too,) ANY bowl game since has been a super duper positive, Thus, I'm looking forward to this one.
And although we've been somewhat spoiled with the CFP appearances, that we are 9-3 going into this bowl is a heck of an accomplishment.
Here's to a 10-3 season with excitement for next year! GO TIGERRRRS!

Heck yeah I’m excited. Anytime our guys take the field I’m doing what I can to watch. Playing a team we’ve never played before is a nice plus and we are going for win number 10. How soon some forget how difficult it was for us to get to 10 in prior years.
