Lost in UNC Chatter is Fact That Tiger D

Was very good. The first TD should never have been Blatant holding/tackling of Clemson player about to sack QB. Second TD short field off fumble. Third TD they stopped conversion. Total yards given up 280.
Yes the O is puzzling but this D is Rock Solid. They will stonewall FSU

CW42 was a man among boys and together with Power Rangers and srs, he ran 2018 squad. So who is stepping up in locker room leadership this year? Any thoughts?

void of Christian and Clelin who i believe had great attitudes and just the right amount of intimidation to push all the guys on the team to perform at their best. Thats a huge void that will eventually get filled but takes time to get there. When you lose your team leader it makes a difference. Accountability to your coaches is one thing but accountability to your peers is a whole separate thing and is probably more important.

6 of the Tarheels 12 drives were 5 plays or less. Four were 3 and outs.
I believe all but 4 drives were 30 yards or less and those averaged only 8.7 yards per drive.

Why did not at least one of all of those officials not see that "hold." Everyone who was watching the game with me were screaming at the television because it was so obvious.

Same where I was watching from. Skalski was blatantly held.
Also when JC Chalk was down on the 2 yard line facing TL16 as the ball was heading right for him and he was submarine tackled by a defender that never turned around to look for the ball, another NON-Call!

That was not a hold, it was a mugging; one of the most flagrant holds I have ever seen.

I agree, and as we all know, before a player is suppose to let his QB to get hit with the hit that Skalski would have hit the UNCheat QB with, he is suppose to take the holding call, and he did commit a flagrant holding without the ref making the call!!!

That wasn't a hold on that TD pass , it was a neck tackle using both hands . When I saw that I wondered right then and there if the fix was in because there's simply no way the ref behind the play could have missed it .

Clemson that day. And there was a wicked roughing hit on TL where UNC thug drove him into the ground that a Ref just watched. I hate those punk Turdholes.

If offense could stay on field longer, the D wouldn't have been on the field so much, and given up less yards and points.

That is what I was trying to say when it was happening if you're talking about when Skalski was held from getting to the UNCheat QB. If not for the flagrant non call, the QB would have never in this lifetime gotten that ball that far down field, and probably not even out of his hands at all. I thought that at least one ref was suppose to be watching that there wasn't any roughing the passer calls, and if there was one, there is no way he didn't see the flagrant holding of Skalski away from the QB!!!!

It seems to be defense by committee so far, no individual vocal leaders jump out on the field. Just shows there are many different ways to get it done.

Yeah, while they have had a pretty good pass rush and coverage, the run defense has been gashed a bit by UNC and (gulp) Charlotte. That bigger back had some broken tackles for Charlotte that did concern me a bit, but a 3 man front of all new people isnt going to be the run stuffers of last year. I trust BV to work it all out in the end.
