Demoralized, Roland has left the state.
(Photo: Jeffrey Davis, 247Sports) Wide receiver Shaq Roland’s career seems to have come to an end at South Carolina. Roland, a junior, did not attend team meetings on Sunday or practices on Monday or Tuesday and did not fly with the team to Shreveport, La. for the Duck Commander Independence Bowl. “Shaq Roland is not with the team anymore,” South Carolina head coach Steve Spurrier said upon the team's arrival to Shreveport, La. “He elected to drop out of school and maybe go pro. That was his choice and we wish him the best.” Roland, who was left at home when the team traveled to Kentucky earlier this season, made the decision to quit the team and was not dismissed from the program. The departure seems to signal an end for Roland, who has been contemplating a jump to the NFL following the season. He has one more year of eligibility remaining and could elect to transfer down a level and play immediately if he doesn’t declare for the NFL Draft. Roland, who has played in 10 games this season, missed a team meeting and walkthrough on October 3 and was not allowed to travel with the team to Kentucky. Wide receivers coach Steve Spurrier Jr. said after that game that he had a heart to heart with Roland and the two ironed out their differences.

Canadian Football League awaiting confirmation of this. I could see him going in the 8th round to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Pack a parka Shaq , that place makes Green Bay feel like Puerto Rico in July .

Lol. Awesome. It took a few years but glad to see the wheels back off in Columbia. He could always recycle all those carolina flags into a nice warm sweatshirt.
