The Youth Vote 10 Years From Now........
Nov 8, 2012, 7:22 AM
|
|
It will be interesting to see how the youth feels after participating in this economy for about 10 years......Try to raise a family and cannot have the home you want or have the car you want and if you have kids having to face them knowing that you may not be able to afford them the things that you would like. It can be pretty hard. Looking at your spouse or kids and not be the provider you should be......Of course many of the youth are now secular/atheists and won't take advantage of free/affordable and supportive places like Church, the scouts for your kids, etc.........
Then your children will grow up determined to do better than you. I was raised in a "FDR Chicken in a Pot Democrat" home quite poor and quickly discovered that I am not all about that.....That will be the flip.....So, go smoke your weed, camp out on facebook, and maybe in 10-15 years you will get it.
This is more political but people seem to be posting everything here....

Agree...people that have nothing, have nothing to lose.
If you're not a Democrat when you're twenty, you have no heart. If you're not a Republican when you're forty, you have no brain.
It's time to wake up.

So much loaded Rhetoric and veiled insults directed at how some people vote. Here's a novel idea, Let's stop flaming the other side about something that can *no longer be changed* and attempt to work together to get something done. Sitting up on a soapbox and spouting out the same thing over and over isn't going to do squat to change the minds of people who have already voted. In case you hadn't noticed by the way, this state was convincingly red as per usual so your ramblings go mostly unheard.

Smoke pot and camp out on Facebook? You've posted on this message board more than 2,000 times since 2009. Do you just campout on TigerNet?
Again, your statements are entirely too loaded and really amount to nothing more than talking points.
Don't worry about my kids. I'd worry about someone who perceives generational shifts as a given and thinks this generation is something of a group of free-loaders that only votes for people that will give them things.
I'd worry about the people who think there's something wrong with the country because their guy didn't win. I'd worry about the religious folks who like to say "God wants Romney to win," but then when he doesn't, they say, "God's in control."
I'm all for other points of views, but when you say people like myself are unable to support ourselves, you're just outing yourself as an ignorant person.

Our problems are much bigger than who sits in the WH. Why should "our youth" trust anyone over 40? These kids are f$&cked. Two unnecessary wars dumped on this generation, a recession borne from the greed and avarice of the "smarter", older folks, and a divided society that is too cynical and jaded to believe in anything. What a great path to follow. My kids will #### sure have a conscience in 2021.

T-Mail me in 10 years and ask me how my kids are doing. The US may look like Biff's Hill Valley of 2015, but I doubt it. Maybe Jesus will have returned by then, but I doubt that too. We can discuss how you are about to or maybe already are enjoying Socialist programs like Medicare and Social Security. Until then, better batten down the hatches!

No use being upset, the Dems have been raiding colleges

since the 50's for their votes. Besides dead relatives that are still voting because they stop every voter ID law that has been passed, the young voter will always be the liberals biggest voting block.
As people get older they grow more conservative , views change. A comprehensive clearing of dead people from the voting rolls and A National voter ID would give you clearer election. I question why Liberals are so afraid to vote legally and honestly. Seems they want to reform everything except the ability to cheat on election day.

Are you actually obtuse enough to think that Obama won by millions votes and they're all from dead people?

Clear the voting rolls up and have voter ID , it's simple.

Why are they scared to do that? Now that I've pointed it out to you, watch this year as every state tries to clear voting rolls and having voter ID's, the dems and the courts will stop them. They know the score. Stop with the "oh there's not that much fraud " bs, if there wasn't, one particular party wouldn't be so scared to do things the right way. Voter fraud belittles each and every person's honest vote, even if they voted the same way I did.

I guess you missed the statement from McCain's former campaign adviser who says that voter fraud is by and large a myth. Or the reports from Florida about servicemen being denied the right to vote because of the Florida voter purge.

Go post in on the political board. You maybe in a sour mood because the person you voted for lost. Everybody had voted for some one who has lost. Just take your whining to the politics board. Clemson is 8-1 right and headed in the right direction. I could careless about your foul mood because of the elections

I don't want to say I am ashamed of my generation, but very disappointed. I concur with the fact that i can't have the car I want now, and I do not own my own home yet... I am very ancy(sp?) but... these times are challenging. I cannot be the soul provider right now for my family and my wife has recently gotten a job to help out with our family. We are doing what we need to, but to me it seems like every day is a struggle.
Thumbs up on your post.

LOL "A chicken in every pot" was a GOP campaign promise
Nov 8, 2012, 10:26 AM
|
|
Here is the info, or you can look it up on infoplease.com
The Question: Which president promised "a chicken in every pot"?
The Answer: It wasn't just chicken. During the presidential campaign of 1928, a circular published by the Republican Party claimed that if Herbert Hoover won there would be “a chicken in every pot and a car in every garage.”
Despite a landslide victory over Alfred Smith, the first Roman Catholic to run for president, the Republican Party's promise of prosperity was derailed seven months after Hoover took the oath of office. The stock market crash of 1929 plunged the country into the Great Depression and people eventually lost confidence in Hoover.
