If you just step back and look at their university as a whole: the fan base, the students, the coaches and their idiotic posts, it's clear that an incredibly TOXIC EXNVIRONMENT has pervaded the school for over a century! No wonder they can't succeed on the larger stage. Their history is filled with over the top BAD decision making; from coaches, to the BOT, their facilities and even choosing a President that anybody even likes a little bit !
Seriously, YCMTSU. They are destined to being wannabees forever.
When God passed out rivals, we hit the JACKPOT !

They were not that bad in the 70s but started to turn negative in the 80s. By the time they hit the 90s they were over the top.

There's a thread on cootcentral started by a BAMA fan asking what he should plan to do/see on his first visit for the game this fall.
No kidding, most of their fans said, "Go to Charleston," or other redirects away from what one of them called "Hotlumbia."
Sometimes I almost feel bad for those fans.

that the football program was bringing down academics, we were dead for about 20 years.
Dabo came along and taught us the be All-In...united... all on the same page which means excellence on all levels.
