sound like racing. They give times, furlong leads, etc in horse racing. This sounds more like horse pageantry. That would be something that fits in with the chickens.

I can hear the usUc cluckers down on the chicken farm now:

"Now that's a purty horse right thur. Ummm hmmm."

around a show ring. A judge or committee of judges scores the rider on how well she exhibits her horse. This can be very subjective and political. Sort of like the judging of gymnastics or ice skating in the Olympics.
