The way I look at the incomplete pass call

Jan 2, 2020, 12:08 PM

What if that pass had been caught in the end zone and the defender had knocked it out in the exact same manner? That would have been a touchdown instead of a fumble. And all OSU fans would have been screaming about how it was incomplete.

There was a similar situation in yesterday’s Rose Bowl where the Wisconsin receiver had appeared to make a reception taking a couple of steps but then dropped the pass due to lack of control. Herbstreit and Fowler were very quick to say it was incomplete. They are biased and don’t even really know it.

Nope, it would have been incomplete.

Even in the replay, you can see the ball move in his hands, bounce off his hip before the swipe. Granted, we are used to JR8 making circus catches like butter, but that was a good job of the CB to disrupt the pass, not strip a controlled ball.

It doesn't matter. OH St still took the lead and then

couldn't stop us from going 94 yds on 4 chunk plays. After Dobbins 2 long runs we held them to 61 yds on 32 carries and outscored them 29-7. They roughed our punter, committed a textbook targeting foul, and threw 2 INTs.

We left 10 pts on the field by dropping an easy Pick 6 and missing a FG. There were 2 other INTs that were dropped, too.

Just like Dabo said, they could prepare for a month for what we do, but they could NOT prepare for who we are. And that's how it played out.
