Since Brent Venables left Clemson, Oklahoma has improved to to a contender and Clemson has regressed to very average. Dabo really needs some good coordinators. I will always take a win, of course, but that was a poorly played game by both sides last night. I sure hope Dabo has some more good football in him, but I am not too confident when I hear him go on his rant after the game about how all the fans would have been mean to the long snapper if Clemson had lost. Why even bring that up when you won the game. He has become so defensive that it’s hard for me to listen to his rants.

Did you watch football prior to this year. When Venables took over OU they had been to several CFPs. Riley left him in a bad roster situation but Venebles was on the hot seat coming into this year. I’m glad to see him doing well, but let’s not pretend OU is Indiana.

In the off season Venables hired a new offense coordinator. He also brought in a transfer qb that has made all the difference. Dabo may hire a new coordinator but he would never bring in a transfer qb.

Venables was a terrific X's & O's coach. He had an attacking D, that would dictate what the opposing offenses could do. Ever since he left Clemson has went to a reaction type of Defense.

Clemson has also lost the passionate "In your face" type of coach. The players knew Brent was legit. Heck, he played the opposing teams Qb in practice. That's why it worked so well. The players knew and saw, Brent wouldn't ask a player to do anything he wouldn't do.
