The thing about Paul Johnson...

I noticed a lot of you mentioned his "we won't have to hear about the SEC for a week or two" comment.
First of all, he loves to make digs at the SEC. I've heard him get on their case many times in the past. And yes, he's a jerk. No doubt about it. But he also has a sense of humor. He has had me in stitches a few times, listening to his call-in show.
Because of his personality, he's not very well-liked around the ACC. I get that. Plus, other teams' fans don't like his offense. And when he beats other teams, he makes digs. Plus he says things about his offense. Some UGA announcers have referred to his offense as a "high school offense". After this year's game, he said, "not bad for a high school offense".
Anyway, if you like coaches who make comments about the SEC, he's your guy. I sometimes wish he'd just shut up and let the team do the talking. But that's not his style.

with any accuracy. Add that to PJ's Offense and it is dangerous, no longer high school.

kind of scary to think that kid will be there 3 more years. Tech Actually had a solid D this year too, I am stating to regret they are our permanent cross division rival.

I get that he "can" throw the ball; but, is it not the ugliest wobbly spiral ever? Watching our game, I thought we would for sure come up with some picks. I understand the fact that he can simply throw the ball forward adds a challenge to this offense. I still believe if we're healthy, we win by double digits at home this year.

He's much quicker and more decisive in making option reads than Nesbitt, Washington or Lee were. And his foot-speed is superior.
He's perfect for our offense.

Do they still cut off callers when they ask about five star recruits? Lol. It is funny
I actually rooted for the guy. I love hearing PJ sticking it to THUGA!

So he's basically like the ACC's Steve Spurrier.***

Eh, sort of but not really...

CPJ doesn't have the full UF trophy case to fall back on, as proof of greatness. And CPJ is often defending his offense, which Spurrier never had to do.
And also, I think CPJ just has that look about him, that scowl, where people don't like him as much. I know you guys hate Spurrier. But he has a lot of fans, even amongst his rivals.
But in terms of taking digs at other teams, at other conferences, at UGA, and at doubters, he's similar to Spurrier in his approach.

Its not trash talking when you do it on the field first & talk about it after you have just beaten a mighty SEC West team when that team was favored to win the game....He told them to "Shut up" about the SEC in his own special way and he gets my respect for that.....Go Tigers!!!!
