Every single presidential election.

It seems like just about everyone who votes is going to be voting AGAINST Clinton or AGAINST Trump. I know only a few people who advocate FOR either candidate.
This much isn't new. Indeed, in every single presidential election I've voted in (there have been 6 so far), it seemed that most everyone was voting against someone, not for someone.
The main difference this time is the vehemence with which people are entering their NO vote. My guess is that the high negatives for each candidate may actually increase the voter turnout this year.
What's your take? Are you more likely, or less likely, to vote this time around? Are you more or less likely to "throw your vote away" on a third-party candidate, in light of the apparent importance of keeping one or the other of the hated major candidates from winning?
Personally, I know that my state will go for Hillary, so my vote won't matter. As a result, I can vote for whomever I want, despite any fears of letting the "wrong" person win.
Leaning towards that libertarian guy, Johnson.

again. Unless something crazy happens and Trump or Hillary drop out for some reason. Then I might consider an alternative.

I'll vote, especially for the local offices, but unless something miraculous happens I will leave the president vote blank.. I just can't bring myself to vote for any of the options being provided.

I'd say chances for each as of 7/6/16:
50% chance of NOT voting for a Presidential candidate. 45% chance of voting for Gary Johnson. 5% chance of voting for Hillary Clinton. 0% chance of voting for Donald Trump.

my mother-in-law. Both (separately) were horrified at the idea that I would vote for Hillary Clinton, and all but begged me to "not vote" rather than vote for her. :-D
I guess the older generation isn't all that excited about having a woman in the White House.

I'm voting Johnson all the way. And I never feel it's throwing my vote away. If I vote for what I believe in, I haven't thrown anything away. And when people try to tell me that's what I'm doing, it's because they want my voice to be silent and their voice to be louder.

My polling place is within walking distance of my home. There's a nice grass spot in our neighborhood near there. I plan to set up a tailgate, invite over all my friends who are also pissed at this election, and drink a few as we watch America burn.

We put too much emphasis on presidential elections... especially this one. Sure, the negativity surrounding both candidates is at a fever-pitch. But as with every election, whoever is elected will drift to the middle. To begin, Hillary is a moderate democrat, not left-wing. Trump is a populist, not a wing-nut. Neither will usher the apocalypse, just more bad television and idiot punditry.
If people really want change in this country, they really need to start looking at reforms with common interests. Limit terms. Eliminate graft from spending. Fix gerrymandering. Find these sorts of compromise, then build consensus. That's governing.

I think this election will set the stone for a true third party candidate in 2020.
