With Madden and EA sports being a big part of a student athlete's daily life....

you would think the college football players (in general) would know how to beat defenses at the line, and post snap....
Just saying, a lot are video "gamers" so one would think it could make it to the field too....

I agree 100%. Former Green Bay 3 string QB Kurt Benkert streams Madden. Watching him and listening to him decipher defenses is insane. Definitely recommend checking him out on Youtube. Maybe Cade can watch a few minutes and learn something ins and outs that maybe Clemson isn't showing him.

Is this a serious question?

Do you think the QB has an all 22 screen in his helmet? Or that playing a video game would prepare them better than watching film?

I'm not saying it replaces film study, etc.

But could in fact compliment it. The ability to decipher coverages, and speed to react to situations, is inherently present for today's video gamers.
As a previous thread poster stated, there are true football players, that play e-sports and absolutely dissect a defense.
I am just saying, a lot of these players play that, and you'd think some of that would make the field.
You don't need film to see a 5 yard out needs to be thrown earlier and before it gets to a boundary.

Gamer guy with cool ranch doritos dust on his face doesn't have to feel the impact of Harold Perkins Jr coming on a red dog blitz. I could not care less about how good some dude sitting on his couch is at "dissecting" a defense.
PS add the word sport to your e as much as you want it doesn't make it one.

and now I want Doritos. LOL
Agreed, everyone does have a plan until it is disrupted.
Seems like other teams are studying more film (or playing more video games). LOL

The point is Cade knows what he needs to do BEFORE he steps foot on the field

Get him in front of a video board and I'm guessing he'll impress you just as much as any of those gamers. What he hasn't demonstrated is the poise to put his knowledge into practice. You can't simulate the the stress of facing real physical pain and injury on a screen. That's the mental strength require to play QB, not just simple memorization.

Great counter points.
I still think one has "back yard talent" to adjust.
Where is that scrambling ability and just knack for the game....
That is what I am hoping he brings back from his younger years. (Tx tape).
