The New Game in college football

As I see what's happened to Alabama this last couple of days, I realize now that Nick left because he knew the inevitable is here. It's not a TEAM sport anymore. It's not a developmental sport anymore. Nick retires and the flood of players leaving continues. And the portal schools are basically buying a TEAM. The players don't care about culture, school, loyalty or education. It's all about the money. NIL and the portal has destroyed the sport. The smaller schools will not be able to compete. Clemson collectives have the money to hold most of our players but we will never be able to pay $15,000 per month for portal players or more. Those are minimum numbers. It's really hard to watch. Clemson will have a good team but I think the days of glory are over. It's not Dabo's fault. Clemson cannot sustain long term dollars it will take. This is the slow death of a once great sport. The NFL couldn't operate under these conditions. It's wide open. The FSU violations will become the norm and acceptable.

They are able to make money in ways they never had before. I have always thought that if a player is making money off of NIL, then he no longer in need of a free education. His scholarship should be discontinued and given to someone who really needs it.

That is why if the college level is giving out scholarships, they should go back to 100% armature with every player receiving a scholarship having to sign a contract understanding that no money will be paid for playing college sports...

Yes - with 100% armatures we would have a shockingly electric team if we rotated the players at a fast rate.... <img border=">">"> We'd truly be an absolute dynamo! .... <img border=">">">

if we can increase the number of eligible players we can reduce the cost and stabilize movement

I am afraid you are correct. Mix in legal college sports betting and you have the formula for an ugly ending. Sad to see it happen.

You are correct, and it is depressing to see what has happened to

the sport. It, as you said, is being destroyed. There is no connection at all between the players and the schools.

Its a dangerous relationship because people are only being loyal to money and whoever can supply the most of it.

That is exactly why all colleges should kick sports out of the college level bc they are the ones that going to be dealing with all the crime that will surely come bc crime follows the big cash, and the colleges aren't the ones getting paid the big bucks for training players for the NFL and other pro FB leagues...

The NFL would be forced to come up with a Junior league to pick their NFL players from...
