Core doctrines according to Jesus

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.”
Oddly nothing about scriptures or trinities or the 2000 Baptist faith message….

The Jews were so good at following commandments, Jesus throws this on them and it's like ####... yeah we're humbled now.

If you don’t believe Jesus is God, why do you care what He said?

If you don’t believe the BFM, why go to a SBC church?

those are the two greatest commandments. Doctrine is taught to bring structure to those Commandments... just as they are for all other directives given by God. And you must believe God gave those directives else you wouldn't be trying to stand upon them as though you are a sacrifice upon an altar build by those directives.
Of course, you could be out and about picking cherries as usual...
I pray that you will stop your mockery of God while there is time to do so.

I didn’t realize pointing out something Jesus said was “mocking” god.

The people at my church do not talk about doctrines and theology. I actually have no clue if they are even a part of the SBC.
You are the one who is so concerned with these things. I think Jesus might have been thinking of you here...
"“Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written,
“‘This people honors me with their lips,
but their heart is far from me;
in vain do they worship me,
teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’
You leave the commandment of God and hold to the tradition of men.”

I assume it is. The pastor doesn’t stand up and say this and that are doctrines of the church. He preaches on things that show what he believes but they are more about reaching the community which I love.
The point is Jesus never endorsed these doctrines. They were put together by men after the fact.
