I truly don't recall. I just recall the players like Jeff Davis locked arm and arm with teammates rocking back and forth before making the entrance. There seemed to be much more energy at that time and the focus was on the players.

(Left side facing down the hill to the field) and jogged down slowly. I think his knees were getting bad even though he wasn’t old, but ultimately he wasn’t making the event all about himself anyway.

I love Danny but don't compare him to one of the greatest coaches in CFB history.

Ironicat. If he doesn't like the way the team runs down the hill why compare Dabo to Danny? I agree the entrance has lost it's luster but it doesn't have anything to do with the way Dabo does it. When Clemson is winning nobody had a problem with the way Dabo did it.
I think it's gotten to spread out. They need to tighten it up.

Uh No!! All that has changed in the last 6 to 8 yrs with Dabo....Dabo was never doing that to begin with his career and I absolutely do not understand it...
Everything about the Hill has changed, for about 40 years it was players , then coaches, the band would be playing Tiger Rag only, now its some video crap with Dabo out front by himself , then players with no Energy, its a telling sign!

Not sure what years this shows. But the players were jacked up and ready - as was the crowd - for the hill run. Liked the shots where the coaches are having to hold them back!

I posted about this yesterday as well. There used to be so much emotion from the players at the top of the hill. They used to sprint down together as a team too. Now they just stand there waiting for the cannon to fire and then skip/trot down one by one or two by two. Just one of a few things I'd change if I had any say.

its unfair to what he is trying to accomplish with it. That being said, he should step back and make it about the team again since media hijacked it.
I could be wrong on this, but I always thoughts Dabo was trying to be the leader, like the 'first man on the ground', or leading the 'charge into battle' bc he stops close to midfield and greets the players, tagging hands, etc.

In the Ford years..heck even the Hatfield and West years I remember the players running down the hill more like Dabo does now instead taking 10 min to get to the bottom. My wife called it Saturday and said they don't look too excited.

I personally feel like Dabo looks like an idiot running full blast down the hill! He should let the captains take the team down the hill and follow suit. It is actually embarrassing!

Evidence of living in the past. THe game has changed and we did not adapt. We are on the outside looking in. Dabo and his oringial coaches were masters at recruiting in FLorida and Georgia. He built a program with depth. The model is now one and done like basketball.
