college football thing that used to come out once a week. Layout was like a quad-fold brochure, with the AP Top 25 on the front, along with some "did you know" type stats and factoids. If you unfolded it out all the way, it had the schedule and results of all Div IA teams on the back. They were used for advertising... there was a small area at the top front for a business to put their name, logo, a short marketing blurb, etc. I used to get them from Lynch Drugs in the 70s.

Leonard died some years back. There is this other guy who was a fan and is trying to carry on that tradition. Stanleys Stinkers I think it is. But its nothing like ol Leonard Postoties.

The Kickoff ... yep, that's it

Thanks. Couldn't remember for the life of me. The thread about CU memorabilia made me think about them. I have some boxes in storage with a ton of Clemson stuff from the 70s & 80s. Newspaper articles, SI magazines, nat'l championship belt buckles, lighters, pocket knives, beach towels, etc. And a box full of The Kickoff's... probably every week for about 10 years or so.
Man, I couldn't live without those things back then. I remember when I took my first post-CU job in 1980 with Amoco down in Bainbridge GA. Drove all over town looking for 'em. Found a local State Farm agency that carried them, and dropped by every Tuesday to pick one up. They knew I was hardcore and would set one aside for me if they started running out. LOL

I worked at Holiday Inn while a student and Coach Howard would bring them in every Tuesday morning.

Was a Friday tradition. While he was a huge Dawg fan, he provided Southern football fans with lots of laughs and memories.
