I think he believes his college offense is going to work in the NFL…it isn’t.

I never understood all the "hype" about Meyer going to the Jags......I wasn't impressed with him in CFB before and I'm certainly not impressed with what I'm seeing out of his offense now.

Three titles at two schools isn't impressive?***

It’s the preseason! No way he is showing his cards. Plain vanilla offense trying to evaluate and build a 53 man roster. Do you want to win, of course, you want to build some confidence. But it isn’t the end of the world. They do still need help on the O-Line though.

The Jaguars OC is Darrell Bevell

Aug 24, 2021, 10:40 AM

who has been an NFL Offensive Coordinator for 14 seasons. In 5 of those 14 seasons, he's had a top-10 Offense in terms of points per game, which is really not a great rate, but shows that he should at least have some level of competence. However, he has been criticized in recent years for not displaying any creativity, and it's possible he peaked nearly a decade ago. His offenses the past 2 years in DET were, at best, average.

Bevell did win a SB with Seattle against Denver, but he's probably best known for giving away SB 49 by calling a pass (that was intercepted by Malcolm Butler) from 2nd and goal at the 1 with 26 seconds left rather than handing it off to Marshawn Lunch.
