Yeah. Handicap the kid by taking 90% of the playbook away from him that he has been working on for 3 years. If we play "Dabo Ball" and go conservative we will ruin Vizz forever. Let em play. Spread the field, use misdirection, reverses, and let Vizz do what Vizz does in the run game. If they do that, we'll be fine. If they lock it down, we get killed and another highly rated QB loses his mind while at Clemson.

We will need to. There's no way around it. We cannot be forced to run the ball 80% of the game. Recipe for a loss when an offense is one dimensional with a not great defense.

SMU is horrible against the run , if we air it out that would be epically stupid . Today we will finally put to rest Dabo and staffs ability to coach. Good coaching and play calling can help Vizzina out. However , when is the last time you watched us play and thought boy that was a great coaching job by Dabo and staff ? Be honest

You have that backwards. SMU is one of the worst in the country against the pass. They are decent against the run.

They're going to stack up to stop the run. They're not dumb. They know we go conservative under Dabo when we have our starting QB out with injury. We will have to be balanced to be able to win today.

Deshaun injured against GT in 2014, very run heavy day after that.
Kelly Bryant 2017 against Syracuse. Very run heavy day after that.
Trevor in 2018 against Syracuse, run heavy day after that but thankfully we had Etienne getting into his prime.
Trevor in 2020 with Covid against BC, run heavy day but again, we had Travis in his Prime. Then DJ had his one and only golden day in a loss against Notre Dame.
Shouldn't even have to provide examples. This is common knowledge and the box scores with the stats are easily available for you to look at.

So the most recent example is from 5 years ago. And in that game, DJU threw the ball 41 times for 342 yards.
The other examples are in-game injuries. So, you have literally no examples.

No, I don’t think we will have it every year. That’s why there aren’t examples to provide. That’s my point.
You said DJU had his golden day in game 2. He was also very good in game 1 and threw the ball all over the place against BC.

Those are QB injuries that happened under Head Coach Dabo Swinney (AKA, an example) and the stats that can be looked up are also (examples). And I wouldn't call DJ against BC "very good". It was serviceable hitting his 10 yard routes and Travis making plays when he needed to. That's besides the point. The game plan shifts to just keep the field short when our backups are in and that's the point.
I hope CV lights it up today and we hit 50 yard bombs but I'm not getting my hopes up to just be let down. I'm keeping myself grounded and maybe I'll get surprised. That'll feel better than being let down. I think the program has had enough letdowns lately.

No, Cade was just better than DJ and DJ wasn't injured. There was probably over 100 QB's better than DJ that year. Cade is still better than DJ now.
