THE FUTURE OF COLLEGE FOOTBALL

From the changes made the last few years and the way everyone is running toward the TV money, I believe the conferences may evolve into 4 to 5 16 teams conferences that will produce champions who play in a playoff maybe up to 8 teams for the national championship. The conferences have become the power brokers and there is little to stop them. But like all things in college it will take time.

Yes I agree, I think four big conferences with a 5th being a FB only pool of other legitimate FB teams from all over the country.

for example...the top two from each of the big four might be somehthing like this...

1.USC 2.LSU 3.Okla 4.Mich. 5.AL 6.FSU 8. NEB 10. ORE
# 7 is Ga and # 9 is Clemson

if the higest ranked team in the 5th conference is ranked in the BCS poll ahead of the 8th place team above they will get the eighth spot.

For example.

If Clemson were to get left out of the big 12 conf. expansion.

Ga is the 3rd team from one of the big 4 they are out.

Since Clemson is ranked ahead of Oregon, which is the 2nd best team from Pac 12, Clemson would get to replace oregon as the eight seed in the Playoff.

I believe we are going to the big 12 so that wouldnt be a factor here, but you see my point.

I believe they will have to find a way to make it possible for all the teams out there that are dcent programs but will not land in one of the big 4 conferences. This way they are only in this conference for Fb, because they are all over the country. They will also
