$60 million per season

B1G and SEC teams are approaching 60 million per team. With even a minor settlement in the grant of rights contract Clemson and other ACC teams would still make $30+ the next 10 years by staying in the ACC or jumping and paying the penalty. Without ND I’m not sure what the ACC can offer to keep things together.

I don't pretend to know a lot about this subject. Are you saying Big 10 and SEC teams make nearly $60 million a year from TV contracts and ACC teams only make $30 million? Wow I did not know that.

Yes that is the target for these conferences. I have always thought 5-10M wasn’t a huge gap for Clemson but double the payout will eventually take its toll.

Better question is ask yourself where thos schools would be without the extra 30 million.

Meechigan, Ped State, Nebraska, Wisconsin, Tennessee
Meechigan State might qualify as a success. Oh, no points in the CFP nevermind.
How about ... Maryland. Brought in and spent 108 Million. Clemson did 131 Million.South Carolina had 140.
Florida spent 159 Million. FSU did 152 million.
Really, the bonus for these payout are for the weaker teams. The coots. The losers. The more competitive programs already have enough and more money
I mean Jawja spends 40 million more than we do so just spending money isn't a way to a trophy.

You're about to find out other reasons those schools are about to get a big boost. Bottom dwellers in the SEC have way better branding opportunities, so NIL contracts are going to be insanely better.
Just compare the best school in each conference. Clemson's named starting sophomore QB can't hold a candle to the NIL endorsements that the true freshman QB, who hasn't even been named the starter, at Alabama. Huge impact on recruiting knowing that most players won't play beyond college.

I think you are making assumptions about DJ's branding and deals. Saban used Youngs NIL as a recruiting tool for Bama. To think DJ doesn't have similar opportunities is short sighted. I'm sure he has all the opportunities he wants to make $100k or $1M depending on how much that becomes his focus.

The ACCshould be thinking about doing more for Clemson

Or, they will end up being the big 12. (After ok and Texas leave).
At some point, the money gap makes a difference.

We stay alive by cutting other sports, defunding basketball, and dumping everything into football.AKA stay the course.

The ACC is locked in with these numbers until 2037. The SEC is a few years away from a contract redo, and there is speculation that the numbers may double, especially with the recent additions.
You don’t have to rework the numbers to see that the ACC is f—-ed.

That’s a ridiculous discrepancy, and whoever locked that long term deal is hopefully unemployed. Someone once said that contracts and agreements are for those that can’t afford good lawyers. Perhaps Clemson (and perhaps the conference) should begin pulling the legal dream team together.

Does anyone still believe Penn State might come to the ACC?

Same for Maryland. If so, I suggest you drop the fantasy and join the rest of us in real life.
You can also rest assured Nebraska has no regrets about leaving the Little 12 for the B1G.
