The ACC has turned down several recent SEC applicants.

This is the only explanation for there not being more former SEC schools in our conference. We can deduce this because several SEC programs have pointed out that the ACC schedule is easier and gives Clemson an advantage. If this were true, SEC teams would be flocking to take advantage of the situation, like Bobby Bowden did with FSU over 30 years ago. The only possible reason this hasn’t happened is the ACC is turning them down, probably due to their low academic standards. Poor academics probably also contribute to SEC schools not being able to figure out alternative ways to get into the ACC.

Well yeh……..but first things first……at the moment SEC execs are swamped, trying to explain to the LSU Coach what state his football stadium is located in.
Next they’ll be explaining that South Carolina & South Dakota are not the same state. Sources indicate that they should have it all cleared up before Thanksgiving.

What will more money do that we aren’t currently doing or capable of doing (don’t know how much a roller coaster costs tho)?

It is a good point. SEC schools will claim their trophy case would be overflowing with championships if they were in the ACC. Shoot might as well join the sun belt. How they spin that being in the SEC is disadvantageous is hilarious.

We've been talking about that very thing and are at a crossroads as to what to do. Stay in the SEC, play in front of packed stadiums and make a lot more money. We saw how easy the games would be by playing you in a bowl game a couple of years ago. We could: Go to the ACC and win a LOT of conference championships because there would only be one 'big' game per year. Also, some of the younger players get rattled in the SEC game atmosphere. Playing in little stadiums over there will help sooth their nerves. Our quarterback will not have to use hand signals due to it being so loud their own tackles can't even hear them. But, another drawback is we would be competing against the Big 12 for which is the bottom feeder conference. Decisions, decisions. What's a team to do???

Oh yeah. They are kind of a big deal in the eSECpn. They last won the conference championship, uh, checks notes .... sometime in the late 1900s.

In fact, they were in the championship game fairly recently, just 18 years ago. Their big stadium helps them a lot.

I like UT, and don't have anything against you sticking up for your guys.

But claiming that because you beat a flawed Clemson team in a bowl game with your best team in 25 yrs you'd have been beating Clemson for ACC championships all along makes you sound, well, like a South Carolina fan.

Joking aside....winning something that matters usually starts with your own conference. That's a start. Unless of course you're winning National Championships....which UT has not.

Vandy beat 'Bama last year. Even so, the calculus hasn't changed. :).

Vandy is still Vandy, with no championships whatsoever with basically no bragging rights.... expect that they beat a flawed 'Bama team. Yes sir. 👍

Now, our basketball coach is giving us trouble. He saw how the SEC literally dominated the ACC in the basketball challenge last year and wants to move to an easy conference. He is pushing for the ACC. We've appointed a committee to look into it and they noted several surprising factors:

1. The ACC is supposed to be the strong conference in basketball but creampuffs in football. The SEC steamrolled them in last years' basketball challenge so the study group is shocked at that.

2. The ACC goes all in on basketball but the committee noticed if they had averaged 43 fans fewer per basketball game they would have been the conference that would have finished FIFTH in attendance.

3. The above was shocking so a detailed investigation commenced to see why the supposed top basketball conference has such poor attendance. The ACC headquarters told them it was related to a couple of factors. Either a lot of schools play in crackerbox gyms so noise can echo off the walls giving the impression there has to be an SEC sized crowd there or they sometimes play in their high school sized football stadiums.

4. Even though our basketball coach knows if Tennessee becomes a member of the ACC his teams will stack up all kinds of wins. Checking this out further our committee has decided coach Barnes does not have the betterment of his institution in mind but is only a personal matter and they uncovered he has a big ego. Barnes thinks with all the ACC championships he will win UT will erect a statue of him on campus. He feels if Bobby Bowden lobbied to join a weak conference just to roll up easy wins and have a stature of himself erected outside the football stadium he can do the same and have a statue of himself erected outside our basketball arena. The committee rejected coach Barnes' plea and recommends for UT to stay in the SEC where things have to be earned and not handed to them.

We're having trouble keeping Kentucky, Mississippi State, Vanderbilt, Missouri and Arkansas in the conference. They are saying if they can get in the ACC there is a high chance, every year, they will win that conference. We've tried to tell them if they go undefeated they probably still won't get in the playoffs because it is so weak over there. That's what happened to FSU. Of course their coach wants over there. They feel wins are so easy they will pile them up to where a statue of themselves will be erected outside the football stadium. This is how Bobby Bowden 'earned' a statue outside FSU's stadium. Will you guys tell them it is really tough and big boy football over there? This will keep them away and you can keep the easy wins for yourself.

they could Google “Big Boy Football” themselves, instead of “Can I still go to heaven if I kissed my mom French style” and see that no SEC team has won more National Championships than Clemson in football in the past decade. A decade is 10 years, by the way. If you multiply 10 by 3, and subtract that from 2025, you’ll end up in the 1900’s, the same century Tennessee won their last NC.
