The ACC does not need to add any teams..

Jul 29, 2021, 8:04 PM

They need to focus on making the conference more attractive for existing teams.
Eliminate divisions
Schedule high profile games every year
Pressure ESPN to renegotiate the TV contract
Put pressure on FSU, Miami, VT and Boston College to improve their football programs.
If the above four teams returned to the programs of the past and UNC continues to improve. Add that to Clemson and you have a super conference with only 14 shares of the pie.

Agree to a set of October games with the Big10 each year. Drop the G5 games to make room for these challenge games. Build ACC brand equity beyond the southeast region. Maybe find a way to make Fox and ESPN pay a premium for these matchups (they would be replacing a low ratings snoozer game).

The ACC missed the boat years ago with emphasizing basketball over Football . It’s too late. The SEC payout dwarfs the ACC and it will get worse. Staying in the ACC means the end of national relevance and the difference in revenue will make the ACC basically a group of 5.

I would suggest we stop playing FCS schools too. There should be enough FBS schools that we don't have to resort to the next tier down.

1.) ACC isn’t in charge of non-con scheduling that is up to each member
2.) You can’t just renegotiate a contract of that size and length because you want to
3.) How exactly do you pressure underperforming teams to play better? It’s not like they aren’t trying and you can’t kick them out or reduce their rev share under the current framework.

Saying “fix these things” is dandy until you have to actually get around to doing it.

Your right to a point. They don't need to add any more teams.
They do, however need to tell Notre Dame to;
Just go away ,we don't need you.

Agreed on telling ND to take a hike in all sports. We don't need to expands a conference either. VT FSU and UM can and will get stronger. 12 team playoff means we still have a path in and the bottom line is you still have to have coaching to win championships. All these years the SEC has already had a financial advantage and still only Bama is consistent. Let them dilute themselves all they want. Keep the ACC where it is. Minus ND

Absolutely disagree now. Before UT and Okay thing, I didn't want to see anymore expansion, still don't but the ACC better get ahead of this. If say Penn St and ND join ACC get renegotiate tv deal. Don't think ND has any reason to join now especially if they expand playoffs. They have to make a power move here.
