About our defense even tho it was gashed Saturday. When Brent V went to Oklahoma everyone said their defense would be elite. Their Defense was horrible but here in year 3 their looking like the old Clemson defenses. Point is.. give Allen time and I believe he will get us right. Garret Riley however in year 3 has progressively gotten worse. On paper we may seem to move the ball but those yards usually come when teams are playing prevent and are completely shut down inside the red zone (when it matters most). We bust a long rushing run on a 3rd and long draw but when it’s 3&1 we can’t line up and run for that 1st. It takes a strong running game to be successful and Riley in year 3 obviously can’t produce one.

I also believe our defense suffers against stopping the run because they never see a running game in practice.

And we haven't had one of those in a while.

I think the reason most people are concerned with Allen is they still believe the preseason hype that this defense was loaded with 1st and 2nd round draft picks. Maybe even he believed it when he agreed to leave Penn St to come here.
