It's sad to see these small schools take a beating from the big boys for a paycheck. I hope the end of the BCS brings an end to cupcake games.
It feels so dirty to gloat about 10+ win seasons when 2 of those wins are against cupcakes. I know all the big schools do it but there has to be a better way.

It's a law that we have to play one in-state small school per year and we had to add Citadel this year because we went to 9 conference games and canceled Central Mich. (I believe), only to go back to 8 and have an opening. I don't have a problem with it. It helps the small schools' athletic budget and it gives us a chance to rest up and get healthy (like today)

The end of the BCS means nothing to cupcakes, if not enhances their usefulness. It basically means that to get in you just have to run the table in a major conference. Why would teams play a tough OOC schedule if they don't need to to get into the playoff? Teams will "pull a Florida State" every year (and yes I know they scheduled a series with WV that got cancelled and played OU a few years back in a series, but recently they've plagued their OOC schedule with cakes so that they don't have to play Home/Aways).
Look at Ohio State this year. Down conference, no tough OOC games, and they'd be sitting pretty for a playoff. I could even see some schools getting rid of their rivalry games so that they can add another lousy FBS game just to get a win. Sad, but it could happen.
