IMO a fake slide from a QB is like trying to give a half

Wave for a fair catch. It should not be allowed by the QB. He should be down where he faked the slide. Because if you hit him most likely the official’s would have thrown a flag. A fake slid caused WF players to stop or slow down there speed during the play.
I hope the next time Pitts QB runs the ball he leveled like he was hit by a tank.

its the integrity of the rule. He better not scramble the rest of the game. I promise you the WF defense will not let up next time. Even if it costs them 15 yards.

Well they made the fake fair catch rule after people were trying to get away with it. I can't remember a time a QB tried a fake slide so they never made a rule they never had a use for. It'll probably get changed in the offseason.

Or sell. I don’t consider it anything close to the fair catch rule. To me it’s more like a play action fake or reverse or something. Honestly not sure he practiced or thought about it. It may have truly been in the moment where he realized he had a lot more room to run

But not a QB when there are so many rules to protect him including the sliding rule. Cheap play IMO.

You can’t legislate intent. You either went down or not.
It looked like he changed his mind rather than tried to fake out the officials.
Is it different than looking like you will run out of bounds and then not?
How about the fake spike ball?
