Sunday - didn’t learn about the history of beer but did hear a talk about the Free State of Jones and other Southern Unionist enclaves by the lady that wrote the book the movie was based on.

Sat night, drove down to dad's at dark and took kids out fishing on the lights (only got 1).
Sun - Church in the morning, MsJr's 4th birthday party. Slipnslide and go karts with cousins. Went to church for fireworks show which is always / was epic.

Not many people saw them on their final show ever at Wrigley field and then saw them the next time they played there too.
And agree, Chicago is fantastic.

BORING.

Mrs. tested positive for Covid mid-week, she brought the virus home from Nashville, I guess. It was like a very minor cold for her, a little coughing but for the most part, she went about her normal business (as a retiree, LOL) all week. I have been negative the entire time and had no symptoms but went ahead and did the quarantine thing since to err on the side of caution...mostly because I have to worry about carrying the virus over to RH Mom.
Friday, finished up work, played a lot of bass, and finished watching Pistol on Hulu. Quite enjoyed it, even though it was a highly dramatized account of the Sex Pistol's history. Also, found an injured osprey while hiking the pup at the lake.
Saturday, hiked pup a lot, checked on the bird a few times, made a LOT of calls trying to get the bird rescued, left a lot of messages with every lead I could find for raptor rescue, played a lot of bass, watched the Adam Sandler movie Hustle on Netflix...pretty good movie. Hated passing on going to Anderson to see Gritty Flyright, but that quarantine thing.
Sunday, played a lot of bass, hiked the pup a lot, made/returned more calls about the osprey. Finally got a volunteer that lives in Fort Mill to capture and transport the bird to Riverbanks Zoo for mediacl attention at their clinic, and it will eventually get moved to the Avian Conservation Center in Mt. Pleasant for rehab. I did make a grocery run to Walmart because needed cat & dog food, and hate I passed on Thirsty Beaver because that quarantine thing.
I'll score the weekend 16/19 Covids because of Covid, but I guess it was meant for me to be here so I could rescue a raptor. At least...that's what I'm telling myself to ease the pain of missing two bands I really wanted to see. Today is technically the last day of quarantine (as I understand the protocols) so glad to be past all this crap with minimal health impact on either of us.

This poor fellow had a noticeably injured wing and never moved from under one of the cranes that Duke Power uses to lift barges in and out of the water while working on the big concrete water-holder-backer wall between the lake and the river (take that, Tnet filter).

Late home from ATL friday night and watched hockey. Saturday mostly a lazy day, but did finally disassemble and remove pool table that's been clogging up my bonus room for years. Now I have 3 pieces slate to use. Probably an outdoor table for one... Saturday evening had dinner at Mr Crisp. Sunday yard work day, including house wash. Sunday evening hockey and watched the Avs hoist the cup. Now back to the salt mine.

Much needed relaxation...

I was spent after a crap week at work with multiple plant lock-downs due to text threats (a separate long story). Wife-of had son-of and fraunds in Greenville for an all-day Big Air excursion. Brought home Zaxbys for me and daughter-of. Zoned out watching Lincoln Lawyer and passed out in chair.
Saturday...breakfast with fam at Mama Penns. Took daughter-of to see Lightyear 3D and it was pretty good. Buddy cancelled out on me to go see Gritty in Anderson so I watched something with wife-of and hit the bed early.
Sunday...was planning to go to church, but kids weren't feeling well. Took wife-of to Iron Hill Brewery in Greenville for lunch. First time there. I'm not sure about their other beers, but the Munich Helles is legit. Hard to stop at 2. Food was pretty good too. We are due for a sofa/love seat upgrade for den. Wife-of's been bitching about sofa for some years now...so we did some furniture shopping. Ended up getting a new set...2 power reclining sofas and power recliner chair. 14-week lead-time. So, sometime as football season is getting into high-gear we should have an upgrade in seating coming. On way back home, check engine light came on in new company car with less than 15k miles on it. Pull into auto parts place to get a free code reading...eff..turbo inlet sensor blah blah. So now I get to take it back to dealer for service. The best be giving me a loaner while it's being fixed.

Friday worked and then took off to Kalahari with the kids around 12:30. When we got there, we realized we left our overnight bag at home - OOPS! So off to Wal-Mart we went to get bathing suits, toiletries, and some water. Get back and enjoy the waterpark.
Saturday AM we get up and take our kids to their summer camp which they are staying at for 6 weeks. Drop off went well and my wife and I were off around 12:00 or so. Stopped at a brewery and for lunch on the way home. Get home and take a little nap.
Wake up and meet up with my buddy for the Goose show at Radio City. We take the ferry across the Hudson with a solo cup beer (niiiccee) and then make our way to the Other Half Rockefeller tap room. Of course its packed, but we have a beer there. Head for a quick dinner and then to Radio City. Radio City is the BEST indoor venue and I encourage everyone to see a show there. Show starts a little after 8 and goes until 1 AM! One acoustic set and two electric sets. Trey sits in for the entirety of the third set and the evening was excellent. Hit a pizza joint on the cross town walk and smartly down a liter of water. Uber home and in bed by about 2:10.
Sunday was understandably low key. Woke around 8:45 and cleaned up the house, sat on the couch, napped, and watched an abundance of sports.

do a golf trip with dad. 16 of us on the trip, played Friday, Saturday, & Sunday, shot 79, 77, and Sunday was a fun scramble format that I wound up winning, got a nice bottle of 2019-01 Bookers.
We did an Angels Envy distillery tour, their rye is pretty dang good.

For those wondering on the modified scramble
Jun 27, 2022, 9:26 AM
|
|
You set a tee off order, then just rotate it each hole.
Everyone tees off, the two leftmost shots are a team, and the two rightmost shots are a team, each teams picks the best drive of their two, then you do a scramble from there until you finish the hole. If one team wins the hole, they get a point, if the teams tie the hole, you get half a point. Whichever individual has the most points at the end, wins.
I got 12.5 points (maximum of 18), took 7.5 on the back 9.
It's a fun format, if you're the last one hitting, you have some strategy for where you want to go - say two are in the right rough and one is piped in the fairway, you are going to intentionally hit the ball left so you're with the fairway shot.

Friday--changed out a bad 02 sensor on the 4runner with the correct part# this time (Its always the $200 part and never the $40 part) then later watched TV and youtube.
Saturday--Went out on the boat for 4 hours by myself. It was glorious, but pretty windy and choppy. Came home and finished up a buzz, ubered to the southern for a something to eat, almost fell asleep at the bar, so I came home and tired-drunked myself to sleep on the couch.
Sunday-Went to Lowe's and bought a gas pole trimmer and cleared out some oak tree limbs over the driveway so I can back the boat in without the oak tree tearing off my ttop or VHF antenna. I paid some guy $300 last week to do that and cut the grass, and all I can say is that tired old white guys probably shouldn't do that kinda work. He missed a bunch of limbs and what he did cut just sucked. Piddled around the boat for a while, then watched some youtube. Magically, here I am again.

but everything's good now.
drove to ATL Friday...normal 4-4.5 hr trip took us 6 hrs. Stand still in Murfreesboro, Chattanooga, and ATL.
Drove down to HHI Saturday from ATL ... 6.5 hrs. Took us 2 hours to get to McDonough. #### Atlanta.
dawghater2she has stated she'll fly down w/ kids and I can drive w/ all the ####. thinking better route to SC Coast would be 40 through Asheville then come down 26. Granted, my aunt got stuck in Columbia for 2 hours...took her bout 4.5 - 5 hrs to get to HHI from Greenville which is just ridiculous.
So much for this $5/gal gas shutting down the roads...muhfukkas still driving like it's 2019.
Family ended up getting way too hammers Sattidee night, woke baby up, couldn't get her back to sleep until 3 am. So we can only go up from here haha
Spent day at beach yesterday, cooked some steaks last night, trying work minimally on one customer, and one site to get it closed by the end of the quarter.

Had Friday off, did to do list stuff, trimming shrubs etc. Visited inlaws, mom of Mrs Cub recovering from triple bypass. She's doing much better. Saturday, Mrs Cub and I took our dog and grandpup to the lake. Grand pup first time getting in water, decided he did like to swim after all after several attempts to teach previously. Low key cruising the lake. Was nice because water was low enough that we could make under twin bridges (barely) without lowering top completely. Was not so nice because $45 got us just over 7 gall of petro. Sunday decided was going to hand prune some low hanging dead branches from one of our oaks. Mucho work, looks better, I guess. Collapsed in chair with my fav IPA (Chance from Wild Leap, brewery from my hometown)

Friday night went to a friends house for a cookout. Wife and I dominated some beer pong and the food was excellent!
Saturday did some more stuff to the new house and then relaxed the rest of the day. Rewatching Game of Thrones with the wife...her first time.
Sunday I played golf. Was an inch away from my second hole in one. Wife cooked shrimp for dinner and we binged GOT.

Friday night had ubered indian food and watched something I can't recall on TV. Fell asleep on the couch. At some point moved to bed.
Saturday, woke up and fooled around and then made some breakfast for the three year old. Put some furniture together for kids rooms and set up kids rooms. Goofed off a bunch. Grilled Burgers for dinner that were good. Listened to music with Wife for a while. Bed.
Sunday, ran errands all day and then cooked Salmon on the grill which was excellent. Acted as an advisor to wife's argument with the 17 year old about wanting to go to her boyfriend's house. Watched TV with wife. Bed.
