Trick Play on Kick-off .......

First ..... I see no reason that we should have done it.

Second ..... I hope we don't do it again.

But what did it have to do with Mafah fumbling the ball? If we hadn't fumbled we would have had good field position and would we still be talking about it. What if Mafah had scored? What would we be saying about the trick play?

That said - you're right, it actually worked - and we'd be cackling about the play and our 2022 CFP appearance if the ball hadn't been fumbled.

And let the kids who practice regularly on special teams be the ones on the field during special teams plays, and let them do their special teams things.

IMO Dabo wanted to 'out special teams' Shane Beamer in that game more than simply letting a superior team take care of business the normal way. I hope Dabo doesn't feel like he has something to prove in that regard in this one upcoming.

That is exactly right and had nothing to do with the trick play.

I agree that we just play straight-up football and ram it down their throats. No need for trick plays.
