I dont care about the military in DC, but are they even trained to bust people for crimes, makes legal arrests, just basic procedure? Theybare some training and experince to becoming a cop. It seems they wouldnt influence crime much at all. Its not like they can just shoot people. They are just regular dudes.

So they should be adequately trained in some level of policing.
But obviously there is a difference between the military and civilian policing. The biggest issue being this isn’t how the military is intended to be used.

I don't know if the Union is aligned with Trump. It does seem like organizations and people who shouldn't be political...are political.

I have no idea why Trump is doing it now. DC homicides did hit a record high in 2023, but has come down to "normal" levels...which is still not good, but doesn't seem like any sort of emergency...

This is just more showmanship and distraction. Crime won’t change at all, but they’ll get a couple photos of NG standing in front of buildings, maybe a brown person face down getting cuffed. Trump will declare VICTORY in about a month, and everyone will keep forgetting about the fact that Trump killed the release of the Epstein files because of his close personal relationship with the man and his knowledge of what he was doing.
