Targeting on Klubnik before interception?

We had to hurry to the line but it sure did look like there was forceful contact shoulders or above. Anyone able to find a replay?

a launch and contact with the crown of the helmet. Ball carriers are not defenseless players so the forcible contact to the head or neck area does not apply.

Very wrong. The victims of most targeting calls are ball carriers.

There's two separate parts of the targeting rule. One part regards defenseless players and the other part is for players that are not defenseless. The ball carrier is never considered defenseless and just having possession of the ball does not make a player a ball carrier. The QB is defenseless while he's throwing or attempting to throw. If the QB tucks the ball and runs with it, he's no longer defenseless and is instead considered a ball carrier. Cade was a ball carrier on the play in question.

I don't know what you mean by the victims of most targeting calls are ball carriers. From my experience the vast majority of targeting calls are the defenseless player variety.
