Tally Democrat screws up Big 12 calculations.

Jun 7, 2012, 5:44 PM

I'm sure some of you saw the Tally Democrat article that said FSU got 14 million from the ACC, while the Big 12 paid out 19 Million. Well it seems the writer only was off by 3 MILLION dollars!

"Jim Lamar ? @ Jim_Lamar ACC says it will distribute closer to $17m this year. That's a number no one ever gave until I started asking questions."

WOW you're the journalist writing the article and you print it making $5 Million claims that aren't true. Take out the exit fees Missouri and Texas A&M paid in and split among 8 teams and the numbers may actually be equal or the ACC may in fact be higher.

If Clemson goes they go, but I want an informed decision on accurate numbers. Enough bloggers and twitter folks toss around incorrect figures now a supposedly credible journalist makes a 3 mIllion dollar error.

ACC made the error... they refuse to give out numbers***

furthermore...

FSU has in their budget "$14.1 mil" from the ACC... going to "$14.9 mil"

That's in their budget... where did they get that?

ACC

Keep up man... Lamar said he added this years TV deal 12.9 plus the 1.2 increase for next year. His analysis was flawed and he admits it. He didn't ask anyone he just guessed. What more do you want?

He must have got the 17 Million either from Florida State or the ACC, but he was to embarrassed to offer more than a retraction by twitter.

Also Lamar never added in the Bowl Money or NCAA Money or the Championship travel expenses paid by the ACC, he then slanted his article to promote his agenda. Same as what Mickey Plyler does every morning when he pushes his Big 12 agenda on false pretenses and inaccuracies.

The Big 12's number got inflated by the exit fees and then were split 8 ways instead of 10 or 12.

The B12 # is what is misleading!

Jun 7, 2012, 6:54 PM [ in reply to ACC made the error... they refuse to give out numbers*** ]

That is a payout with the exit fees from 4 teams, plus they only paid 8 teams.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

a lot of the reporting on #s are manipulated

Jun 7, 2012, 7:39 PM

and even some of the future big 12 #s we've been hearing are likely bogus because TCU and WVU are getting 1/2 shares for several years thus upping the other schools splitting an extra whole share.

Bottom line-- if ACC is paying out 17 mil now and SEC just paid out 20-- then I doubt there is much difference at all between ACC and B12.

The more info that comes out, the more I agree with you!***

I wish the rumors would be put to bed finally....

Jun 8, 2012, 8:23 AM

There is so much false info going around it's crazy.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

That was the old contract. New one will make that $ up

Jun 8, 2012, 9:11 AM [ in reply to The B12 # is what is misleading! ]

That was with the old lower deal. The new Fox deal will kick in this year and it jumped from 1.6m to 9m.

That would easily make up the difference even with backloading.
