Evolve with the game 5-6 years ago, when our stick was high, by not finding an opportunity to get out of the ACC.
Too LATE now. We are what we are and we fans need to understand that. If we ever get back to be to being in the top echelon it's going to be a long time.
We have find joy in what we have and not think we're something more relevant.

I agree on leaving the ACC but the couple years uncertainty about the lawsuit could not have helpe recruiting.

We didn’t ’miss the opportunity’ to get out of the ACC -AND- at the same time find a better conference.
We tried.
B1G puts great emphasis on only admitting new schools to their conference IF the new school is a member if the American Assiciation of Universities ( the AAU). Clemson is purportedly making progress towards getting an invitation to get into the AAU, but we are not there yet. Needless to say, we were not close to AAU stature 5 or 6 years ago.
Oh yeah, the SEC has no need for us.

We lost the opportunity to leave the ACC immediately after Maryland left. I’ve felt for years being in the ACC has dragged this whole situation out, if we were in the big 10 or sec we would have been exposed 3-4 years ago. Our floor for wins in the ACC is plus our patsies is 8 games, that means we only need to win 1 reach game plus a bowl to get to 10 wins and suddenly everyone gets amnesia to the problems at hand

Should make more use of the portal. But aside from that, how have we not "adapted"? Our recruiting is right in the trajectory it always has been, our NIL numbers are respectable for our circumstances and so is revenue sharing.
The changes in coordinators have certainly been a challenge, but the team has worked through that. We have just come up short for a variety of reasons, certain recruits didn’t hit with us or elsewhere when they transferred, and so on.
