From Streeter to Lawrence

Pretty cool link from the QB Coach to his latest pupil: Clemson has only had 12 QB's in its history throw for 300+ yards in a game, with the first being Thomas Ray in 1965.
However, since Brandon Streeter became the starting QB, he started a streak of 11 straight primary QBs that have all had at least 1 game of 300+ yards that has carried through to his latest pupil, TL16. Primary QB, meaning, that QB had the most starts in that season, so Cole Stoudt counts as 2014 instead of DW4, for example:
Quarterback (Primary Starter Years) Streeter (98-99): 4 times Dantzler (00-01): once Whitehurst (02-05): 8 times Will Proctor (2006): once Cullen Harper (07-08): once Kyle Parker (09-10): once Tajh Boyd (11-13): 18 times Cole Stoudt (2014): 2 times Deshaun Watson (15-16): 13 times Kelly Bryant (2017): once T. Lawrence (2018-): 3 times

KB was here for an entire year longer than Trevor, and he done it once, and TL already has 3. Do anbody still question Dabo about cutting the cord, Dabo knows talent over anything else that he knows about FB. And I'm positive that Dabo felt like a few of us did, and that it should have been done from game one, but he couldn't do that bc he had to give KB the chance to prove why TL shouldn't have started over him from game One!!! I'm not the coach, I'm just a fan, and if the decision would have been mine to make, TL would have been the start after the spring game!!! And he would have broken more rookie records if he had been named starter from Game #1 on 09/01/2018 against Furman, and it wouldn't have ever been a trial two QB system, not even in the Furman game, I would have put Chase in for the mop up duty. That would have my call bc, those two would/will be together until their college days were over!!!

These are great numbers.
In last night's thread referencing the PFF clip, they talked about Trevor having a 'negative play' rate that was only 1/3 that of Kelly B. In other words, the scrambling senior QB got sacked 3x more often this year than the true freshman.

TL would have had a 4th 300 yard game had he not caught his own pass and lost 12 yards against Boston College. He ended up with 295 yards passing that game.

Tajh #s includes a 3rd year of stats while DW4 only uses 2 years.

The number of 300-TD games was the total of their whole career, not just the year(s) each was the Primary starter. Thus, DW4’s game against UNC in 2014 counted. I was just using primary QB designation because guys like Will Korn, Willie Simmons, etc did play a few games but did not have a 300yd game. However, all the Primary QBs did have at least one.

Why the surprise, Dabo with Tajh Boyd is what kicked-off Clemson FB to where we are today!!!

Bowl in 2010 and got the team moving. Certainly made the future look bright on that ugly afternoon, and it was indeed!

Tajh started a few more games than DW4 and 2015-2016 the acc was much better than any of Tajh's years.

I saw this and was thinking Streeter was being hired to by Les Miles at Kansas and he was off to Lawrence, KS. Glad I was thinking about the wrong subject.
