Tajh Boyd vs. Aaron Murray
Jan 12, 2013, 11:41 AM
|
|
All I hear in Atlanta is Georgia people talking about how great Aaron Murray is at QB. I still don't know of what "showdown" big game that he's won for them (correct me if I'm wrong).
He had dreams of turning pro for the upcoming NFL draft, though, until he learned that he would not be a high draft choice at all - heard some NFL people the other morning on 680TheFan say he's just not ready.
Tajh will show him on 8/31 who the better QB is.

Boyd hands down the better QB, look at the stats!
Of course Murray is going against SEC defenses like LSU and we only had 38 first downs against them!

Boyd and it's not even close...

I watched Murray play several games last year and was not impressed. He looked absolutely pathetic against the chickens, and (save for Bama) didn't face many elite defenses to get those stats. I'd rather have Boyd, period. Can't wait to stomp that UGA a$$!

UGA has had a bunch of good QB's who have been

over-hyped and over-rated: DJ Shockley, Eric Zeier, David Greene, Matthew Stafford, and now Murray.
I'd take Tajh any day.

the jury is still out on Matthew Stafford. He had a good year in 2011, but went down a little this season. Stafford's play this season could have been affected by the way his team played.

while Tagy locks on to single receivers too often.
In reality, neither of them were ready for the NFL and neither were going to be highly prized in the coming draft.
The August game will fall to whichever secondary is the more unready. Also UGA has a very strong running game on which to rely which is going to be absent from the 2013 Clemson team.
In order for Clemson to win it is going to be entirely dependent on Boyd\Watkins and finding replacements for 90% of the offensive production from this year by the first game of 2013.

With almost our entire O-line coming back, and a number of running backs that have already shown us they are talented, why do you say a "very strong running game" will be absent from our team next year?

with hot rod and a healthy dj,along with brooks we already have a game tested backfield. dye will get some serious pt as long as he can pick-up the pass-pro part of the position. we have an all-american player returning at 1 wr spot, and a bevy of other talented wr's who are also big game tested. we have a couple back-up te's who have shown they can play the position. best of all, we have tajh running the show behind what should be our best o-line in recent memory. uga is looking on defense just about the same way you describe our offense.and you can never guess how many of their returning players will be suspended for an opening game. with the game at the valley, i can see us being 3-5 point favorites, and i think we'll cover, easily.

Murray has been a good college QB - Boyd VERY GOOD

Boyd has been underpublicized but hard work this summer and a big win against UGA on College Game Day will take care of all of that. Keep up the hard work Tajh and go Tigers!

....I guess most Dawgs forget the trashing and criticism they spewed in 2011. They got hammered by Boise State to start and then downright embarrassed by LSU at the end. Do they simply block that out? One good year. Good grief.
