Sure, we’ve been swept a few times. Lost a series or two. Maybe got run-ruled like it was travel ball. Given up 15+ runs a few times no big deal, right?

But heaven forbid anyone dares to mention this on Tigernet. Because some of you have decided that criticizing a team in freefall makes you a "bad fan." So let's lay out the rules, as dictated by the Ministry of Pumper Truth:

1. If you've never coached high school baseball or above: shut up. Your opinion is invalid.
2. If you have coached high school baseball: you may post, but only if your criticism includes an uplifting message of resilience, grit, and team spirit. Ideally in the form of a haiku.
3. Do not, under any circumstances, point out when a player boots a routine grounder, strikes out on three pitches, or throws to the wrong base. That player has feelings and possibly a great-aunt sobbing uncontrollably every time you post.
4. Want to question the coaching staff? Sorry, unless you’ve coached Division I baseball and personally hoisted the NCAA trophy, you’re just a bitter hater who needs to trust the process.

Also, where were you people when we were 8-1 and leading the ACC in vibes? That’s right, not complaining then, were you?

Honestly, some of you sound like you’d rather be right than see us win. You're not fans. Go root for the coots.

You aren’t wrong, any team is worthy of criticism nearly all the time. When used constructively, it’s one the tools of teaching.

My issue with this board at times is just post quality. Some posters are very insightful, some poster are funny and satirical and then some posters are just using the board to vent negative emotions after a long day of work or something. There are some posters that never post a positive thing about anything.

Take the ND deal. The same poster who was complaining that Clemson is still the ACC is now complaining that ND isn’t in the ACC.

My impression is that all criticism is lumped together in the doom and gloom camp and insightful criticism is thrown out with the bath water.

The other quality issue is that when people get behind a keyboard they decide they are experts. The internet has sure made it easier to send communication but harder than ever to parse quality.

We definitely have room for improvement but no matter our record we will have room for improvements!

These kids and the coaches need to get their ACT together.

I know our coach hates to lose anything so he’ll be working on getting better because that’s all you can do!

The concept of just wanting to be right over supporting the team is what I can't wrap my head around. Criticism is fair and warranted but openly trolling is pathetic.

This is literally the worst sports forum that Ive ever encountered.

It’s still just sadly the best Clemson one, which isn’t saying really much cause the bar is so low.

You are by far one of the worst posters on this bored. Don’t you have a political agenda to post on the football board or something? You are the last person who should be policing what people post considering you don’t even get the concept of which board to post on.

nothing but negative rants with zero data, insights, etc. Some criticism is totally fine, occasionally venting some frustration is OK, but when every single post falls under those categories its just overbearing. Know when you're just beating a dead horse.

I think the issues with this baseball team are plain to see. Most of them have been apparent for quite awhile, and they've certainly caught up with us lately. We are well past the time for gloating and "I told you so"s. Right now this team needs support.
