list, as we've seen the potential of the others before. I agree it's hard to tell if he's ready to play in big games yet based on his performance against SC State, but he looked like the best RB on the field yesterday.

Hot Rod isn't a surprise to me. I thought he would be fine. My surprise is Anthony. He finally looks like that 5* linebacker we got when he committed. He looks big, like he added 10 pounds over the offseason, he seems to be in the right places at the right times and he knows the playbook much better. He is still playing Mike right? I think being benched for Shuey for part of last season lit a fire under his ###. He is a heck of a player and he is finally showing it.

I agree, good choice, just think if we had him kicking off against FSU last year, maybe we win that game? Field position is such a key facet of the game!

think is being missed in this thread. All of the p;layers named in the thread are playing well, but almost all of them played last year and showed flashes of brilliance or at least potential, so it's not really a surprise. A surprise would be somebody that you've never seen play before, or who you have seen but is playing a whole lot better than they ever have or you ever thought they could.

To me the biggest surprise has to be Cole Stout. He out performed Tajh yesterday. And, very much looks ready to step in and play.

You didn't state positive or negative way of surprise.
I have to pick Bryant. I still think he is the most awesome WR and should be dominating defenders. I just don't get it. He should be #1 or #2 in receiving stats, and should have made a highlight reel with just his catches.
Problem is - I still think he's the man to do that. C'mon Bryant - it's time to step up and be da' man.

Ryan Norton has stepped in at center and played lights out. He had big shoes to fill.
