If he continues to play like this, just can't see how he's drafted. Or at least drafted very high anyway.

He won't outrun anyone in the NFL and he needs to prove he is a pocket passer.

When he's comfortable in the pocket he plays pretty good. In the NFL most teams give their QB protection and time. But if he starts hearing footsteps he's a below average QB

I think so, he does not have what it takes. He is scared now, what would happen in the NFL, all of them guys are fast.

When asked what is the difference between college and the NFL, he simply said "in college, you only have to worry about two or three players. In the NFL, you have to worry about all of them."

He’s never going to be a franchise QB. Not sure how that will ultimately impact his status but it can’t be good.

DJ at least made the practice squad of the team. So probably an UDFA to a practice squad guy.

He better hit the portal if he has another year of eligibility left. Maybe somewhere with coaches that can help him. He’s just wasting time with the NFL right now.

personal experience as a Clemson fan right now?
It's obviously horrible and not making you happy so maybe you should take a timeout.
Maybe take a grandchild on a walk or read an inspirational book to heal what's really wrong with you. Clemson football is a microcosm at your age.
Eat more fruit and veggies. Less trans fat.

When he runs he shows he's not afraid to be hit. He's too afraid to throw it away and still has bad pocket sense. He seems too afraid of turnovers which is likely a large part of his hesitation. I haven't seen any 50/50 balls thrown in 2 tears.

My take is Cade Klubnik can be a practice squad or backup NFL QB
Sep 14, 2025, 7:07 PM
|
|
NFL OC's and QB coaches are a confident bunch in terms of developing players. Remember a young Cade Klubnik in 2022 outdueling Drake Maye in the ACC championship game? This was before his practice habits and confidence were "developed and improved" by Clemson coaches.
So yes, some team will burn a late round draft choice on him and try to reprogram his game and his confidence.

Yeah , but i di t think he was going to be as highly picked as everyone was saying. To me he is an undrafted free agent with practice squad spot for three years

That would qualify as making it, and be most of the way to a decent middle class retirement at 25. Put him behind a line he trusts before you give up on him, though.

The best job in the NFL may be backup qb for 8 to 10 years. No worries about injuries and a decent pay check.
