2022 Football team

Mar 15, 2022, 4:36 PM

From what I see and read, looked at a few areas.

The D line seems to be excellent.
The linebackers seem to be solid.
The corners seem to be solid.
The safeties seem to have talent.

The O line lacks depth but seems to be improved.
The receivers will be about the same, but healthy, and older, with depth.
The RBs will be excellent.
The QBs will be healthy with more experience and have much more depth.

If injuries are not abnormal, this looks to be a great team.
Media will be down on us due to all the lost coaches, but I think we will be solid there.

The ACC will be improved, so tougher schedule this year.
I see this as a playoff caliber team.

We need major improvement in QB and WRs. OL was actually making headway late last year, so expectation is they will be improved.

In 2020 TL lacked the normal receivers Tigers generally have on the field.
In 2021 DJ lacked the normal receivers Tigers generally have on the field, and played hurt.

I believe the receiver/QB equation in 2022 will be better than those two seasons.

Hmm… as long as we don’t see last year, this year with the QB play.

I'm not sure where anyone else in the ACC will be that much improved. I see the Notre Dame game as pretty much y'all's only potential stumbling block in the regular season. Then you will once again play an unranked or low-ranked opponent in the ACC-CG, and make the CFP. Would be fun to play y'all in the Peach Bowl Semi next year, huh?

whereas Georgia's game against South Carolina is always iffy.

Sure ...

Feel free to go heavy on the coots in that one.

And wake me when Kirby's dropped a 5-spot to them :)

yep, UGA only lost to SC three out of those same five years. but has lost twice to the chickens since then, which we haven't. In fact those years you lost to them we beat them 35-17 and 38-3, so they really weren't even any good.

But whoa Nelly!!! Kirby's got that big 2-game win streak going against them. Which is nice.

Obsess much?!?!

I mean seriously dude, you are DESPERATE to make a point that's not even there. (the records of USC/UGA and USC/Clem are nearly identical over the last 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 years).

And the end result is you'll just hijack a thread about your own team's upcoming season.

Freaking hilarious.

Seems a stretch calling someone on their own team

Mar 15, 2022, 6:54 PM

bored, desperate given you are responding to nearly every post you don’t like about IGA.

I don't see the tougher schedule part but the personnel parts look good. Notre Dame is no Georgia, the ACC is about the same with U maybe being a push with Pitt last year. South Carolina is a big question on year 2 of Beamer ball but they should be better and could be much better unless they have given up by the last game.

If we can win in South Bend, we can have a great year.

People forget that when Tigers were more healthy played UGA to 10-3.

We need to find someone that can play center.

Yes we do. We have bodies on the backend of D but lack in game experience. Sheridan is a senior and everyone says the lightbulb has gone off so we'll see. Yeah, Mukuba can play corner if needed... All sounds good, just little experience. Especially if that injury bug hits again.

I do agree with tug that the overall ACC level will be much improved than the last couple years... And improving.

Re: CENTER

I'd need to see it. Bock wasn't good trying to switch to center last year. He looked much better at guard before he got injured.

Maybe Putnam is more natural.

All about the competition this season, if we win at Notre Dame, this will be an 11-1 ACC championship team that will be possibly in the playoffs

If we lose at Notre Dame, I feel like we’ll be 10 and two, still ACC champions but being a New Year’s six bowl

Either way I don’t feel like this is a team that can run the table

A very good team, just not national championship caliber
