Supposing We're Left Out

Jul 14, 2022, 8:38 PM

Let's say the ACC remains what it is when SEC and BIG are done. Is it possible for CU, FSU, Miami and take your pick to join with individual Schools across the Nation who add value and form a Conference?

I was thinking the same thing.

Probably could get Louisville on board. Maybe add WVU.

We would still have that pesky grant of rights issue to iron out.

Starting a new conference would seem to be a high risk, but potentially high reward move. Our new TV contract would probably be low at first, unless we somehow got a bunch of teams to agree to being part of the new conference from the outset.

We would still have the penalty to potentially pay the ACC if we joined Big 10 or SEC, but our new payoff would be guaranteed to be huge.

We could do what Maryland done when they pulled out of the ACC, tell them to charge the fee to the dirt, and let the rain settle it!!!

Waiting out the GOR would give time to put a reasonable group together.

We've got great football programs here in the East, in our midst now. We just need to schedule those games more often and get out of our own way. If Va Tech could do it without UVA's blessing, there are 8 schools that could band together and jettison the GOR, and that would be our start. I don't mind one game here and there versus other regions but often would wear thin. We just need to get creative and align our pieces better.

Outside of ND, we are the hottest chick at the dance. We should all move past this question. Listen to Dabo….he says the exact same thing

As has been covered, if the B1G and SEC

Jul 15, 2022, 1:47 AM

stay at 16 teams, then the ACC will two to become 16, and what's left of the Big 12 and PAC 12 will form the fourth 16-team conference to become the "P4". Clemson can win a national championship in this setup just as easily as they can today.

If the B1G and SEC grow to 20 teams, then 8 more teams will need to be poached. If that's the case, then Clemson and Notre Dame are the two premier teams left in the country.

There is absolutely no way Clemson can get "left behind". No sense even speculating really.

Things have stalled while the Big is waiting on ND. When expansion heats back up, Clemson and FSU will be the first two teams to jump to the SEC.
