might be okay if it hits that far south

That thing is following me

Sep 6, 2017, 10:35 AM

Will probably tear my house down and then come after me in Anderson

Sunday I guess

Sep 6, 2017, 10:44 AM

depending on where it goes

Something isn't right with that model. It has it spinning outside of Ft Lauderdale on Sunday, then 24 hours later pounding Savannah/Hilton head, then slowing back down again.

Straight line Sav is about 370- miles from Lauderdale; thats about 16 mph average.

How about you? Leaving?

Going to pull the boat out of the dry stack or just pay up

Sep 6, 2017, 10:46 AM

on insurance and hope for the best? They're rated for what, like 120 mph winds?

Sep 6, 2017, 10:47 AM

Need I post pics of the dry stack boats during harvey? put that thing on a trailer and get it out of there

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

It's staying in drystack.

Sep 6, 2017, 10:52 AM

I confirmed with insurance yesterday that it's covered, so I guess we'll see.

I don't even own a trailer; When I need to pull it out I borrow a friends trailer who has the exact same boat.

I just look at this storm and just wonder how many 10's of thousands I'll lose.

I'm really glad we moved back to CHS. Just so glad.

Re: It's staying in drystack.

Sep 6, 2017, 10:53 AM

If it stays current projected track as a cat 4-5 my house will be under water up to the roof...if its still there.

needless to say my wife and I were right about moving away from the coast in a couple years. Maybe a year or two too late

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I'm about 12' above sea level

Sep 6, 2017, 10:59 AM

So I guess depending on storm surge, mine would be as well. Straight line distance I'm about 1/2 mile straight line from the harbor..so I could see this being a total loss.

2025 purple level memberbadge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I saw some, didn't look like they fared too well

Sep 6, 2017, 10:55 AM [ in reply to Re: Going to pull the boat out of the dry stack or just pay up ]

I guess the next couple of weeks will not be a good time to come cruise the intracoastal.

badge-donor-15yr.jpgringofhonor-lakebum1-110.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Yeah the ones I saw in Harvey didn't fare too well.

Sep 6, 2017, 11:00 AM

But if it does hit here as a Cat 4- Cat 5, nothing will.

Sep 6, 2017, 11:12 AM

No used trailers in the area you could snag on the cheap?

badge-donor-15yr.jpgringofhonor-lakebum1-110.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Oh no...especially not now.

Sep 6, 2017, 11:14 AM

I thought about buying a new one. Still thinking about it.

2025 purple level memberbadge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Could you not just drive it up the Cooper, through the lock

Sep 6, 2017, 11:19 AM

and all the way up Lake Marion?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

It's a 22' bay boat, not a real boat***

Sep 6, 2017, 11:23 AM

2025 purple level memberbadge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Right, so you could prolly get it half way

Sep 6, 2017, 11:26 AM

up the Congaree if you wanted to.

You want me to put it on a trailer for you somewhere up Cooper?
