Dynasty in the making! Clemson Tiger
Feb 18, 2013, 12:22 PM
|
|
As a avid Tiger fan, I have to say that I am more than pleased with the progression of our Football program. Coach Swinney is without a doubt exactly what our program has needed. He has invested his salary increases into his staff and in order for Clemson to continue to progress, we will have to be able to retain Morris and Venables. Venables has without a doubt transformed our defense and did so in less than 12 months. He has brought with him Attitude, Intensity, and an old school approach of "physicality" than has been long needed. There is no words to describe how much Coach Morris means to our program and to the future. Retaining Morris may be one of the biggest hurdles we face at Clemson because if he is at Clemson for two more years there is no doubt in my mind we will win a national championship. If we can not keep him at Clemson then nation title hope will be a long-shot to say the least! Lets make the necessary moves to ensure Clemson wins a National Title (or 2 ) in the next 5 years! All In!!

I see what your saying about the CHAD but him leaving will not be all that bad for the team. Its a fact that CM will be gone in the next few years.Dabo will replace him well and the program will not miss a beat.

I love the positive outlook and trust in Dabo...let hope dabo has a plan in place for the eventual departure of Morris! Morris's system is unique and one of a kind. I'm more of a realist and the truth of Morris leaving is that there will be an effect to our offensive production! Lets just pray 2 to 4 more years!

Morris's system is not one of a kind in fact he learned it from Gus Malzhan. Of course he, like any good OC has his own little wrinkles and way of calling the plays but the key is to stay innovative and replace him with someone who is of the same level as a QB coach. hopefully Dabo is already on the lookout and vetting potential candidates.

yeah, I kinda think that his tendencies, etc are being studied pretty hard by Swinney and Jeff Scott. They know he's got bigger plans, and they'll be ready. Might see a season where the stats dip a little, but that could happen with CM here, as well.

You coots are not the measuring stick of our success.
We all know how this works. You'll have a nice little "run" of wins in the rivalry, then things will go back to normal. It hasn't failed yet. That's why winning ACC titles and big bowl games are more important. Because we know for a fact that your run is temporary.

I do not like all the negativity...I will say that I am nowhere pleased with our recent performances against Carolina. Actually more than dis-please...pretty ticked off and its getting old, but in order for it to be a rivalry game i guess Carolina has to win every now and then.
All I was insinuating is that we have the right personnel in place to build a dynasty and get Clemson back to where we rightly deserve to be.
(1) Morris has made Clemson's Offense the most prolific and productive Death Valley has ever seen!
(2) Venables took our defense from a D- team to a B team in the matter of 9 months.
(3) Dabo and Jeff Scott continue to bring high profile recruits to Clemson.
(4) Why not be optimistic while entertain the idea of a national title or two within the next years!
Lastly, I stand behind what we are trying to do as a program! We are making giant steps in the right direction and I will enjoy it because these things do not last forever! Im All in, and cant wait!

takes a little of the sting off. how many titles y'all got? you can crow all you want about the sec, but at least usuc will never sniff another conf. title while usuc is cashing that big paycheck from the sec.usuc is a pretty good definition of someones B****, getting paid to take a whipping! we'll be at the roach next november, y'all be sure and show up, alright.

I dont think its a stretch to call it a good season. Certainly not great, but we did win the division and beat top ranked Bama, ending their win streak.
Wasn't the best season, but I wouldn't say it was a bad year

You coots act like you're on top of the world.
You still have only one conference title and the greatest thing to ever happen to Scar football (The Old Ball Sack), has only brought you one division title.
I guess we should just start taking it as a compliment that beating us makes you feel so good about yourself.

and well we were independent for about 20 years so we couldn't win a conference title in those years...
we've also gone 22-4 the past two years. titles or not thats impressive.
Yall went 11-2 with a bowl win this year and consider it a success, whats different about USC doing the same. With the cherry on top being a win in the rivalry game.
Both programs have been successful the past 3-4 years and I expect both to continue to be successful for the foreseeable future

I said from the beginning, Jeff Scott is a Clemson guy. A smart coach who is learng more every year. I think he will be ready to run the offense if we can keep Morris a few more years. And Jeff will stay at Clemson a long time. His daddy learned the hard way how being a coordinator is a great place to be espcially with the salarys these guys are making today. Give them good pay and a contract and they will stay.

Every team in America has "laid an egg" several times. But the thing is, your school has done it more than most any school in the country. It's one of the worst programs in the history of the game. Nothing at all "ironic" about pointing that out.
